I recently provided consultations for two very young clients in their mid-20’s. Both were brought to the U.S. as children and are undocumented (their parents never told them about their lack of immigration status until now). Both are entrepreneurs who founded incredibly successful businesses in NYC. One is a serial entrepreneur and one of his businesses is about to be sold off. This is when the question of his immigration status came up. Now this client needs to obtain work authorization and a social security number, but it’s unclear if he’s able to. These young clients are Dreamers, who came to the U.S. as babies or children. Although both would easily qualify for an O-1 or EB-1A, their lack of status is an obstacle. We are exploring options including potentially applying for a waiver of unlawful presence, if an O-1 or EB-1A can be approved. And now with DACA being on the chopping block, this means that the roughly 600,000 young persons who currently have DACA might suddenly have no other options to stay in the U.S. and continue making extraordinary contributions to our country like these 2 clients. To be continued… - Need help with a case? Feel free to message or email me at tsui@yeeimmigration.com! #greencard #visa #immigrationlaw #immigrationlawyer #uscis #dreamers #DACA

Immigrating to the United States is a remarkable achievement that deserves immense recognition and appreciation. Legal immigrants bring a wealth of diversity to American society, adding a unique blend of cultures, traditions, and perspectives that enrich their communities and contribute to the vibrancy of American life. Whether launching new businesses or sharing their food, music, and art, these legal immigrants can inspire and excite their surroundings. However, the journey of legal immigration is not without its challenges, and legal immigrants demonstrate an unwavering spirit and determination to pursue their dreams despite the obstacles they face. Therefore, it's crucial to recognize and celebrate their contributions to American society and extend our support in every possible way. It's worth noting that some of the most prominent and successful companies in the U.S. were founded by legal immigrants, including Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, and Brit William. These individuals have brought immense potential and value to the United States, and their contributions to American society are genuinely inspiring. We should be proud to have such accomplished individuals as part of our communities and celebrate their successes as our own. #Theimmigrant, #Bestsellers, #Bestsellingauthor, #Bestsellingbooks, #Bookoftheday, #Books, #Inspirationalbook, #Inspirationaljourney, #Booklover, #Bookaddict, #immigration #immigrant #ImmigrantParents #USProudImmigrants #share https://lnkd.in/gz-rWpMQ https://lnkd.in/eBCP_XCp

A while back, someone asked me how I thought the UK should solve its immigration issues. Whilst I lack the intelligence to solve major global issues, I’ve observed from a combination of being an “expat” kid and married to someone who saw my homeland as I paradise I didn’t believe it to be that: Firstly, most nations should work hard to ensure that their neighbourhoods are relatively stable and prosperous. As a rule of thumb, people tend to flee places they perceive as “s***holes” and if you do your part to create a relatively peaceful place, you’ll find that people are less likely to leave their home lands. Secondly, the most important thing is to ensure that those end up on your doorstep become useful. Integration of a community. Keeping people on the state’s payroll for an indefinite period only breeds resentment. Find a way to process people quickly and work with grassroots to get people jobs and to start businesses that add to the local community. - https://lnkd.in/ge2HKW_Y

This past week, many politicians have shared their vision about the future. They’ve thrown around terms like “migrant crime” and called immigrants coming to this country an “invasion.” They’ve called for the largest deportation in American history. Let’s get something straight: Nobody that's studied the facts says immigrants make this country more dangerous. Nobody that’s studied the facts suggests immigrants hurt our economy. In fact, it’s the opposite. Study after study shows that immigrants coming to America boost opportunity and prosperity for all that call this nation home. Politicians who tell you otherwise are fearmongering. Enough with the disinformation. Let’s develop solutions that actually help this nation. Let’s reform the system and solve real problems without scapegoating immigrants. Check out the comments for a couple helpful stories. ⤵️

Chair of Action West London Addresses Recent Immigration-Related Unrest The recent incidents of hostility towards immigrants in some of our towns and cities, especially targeting our Muslim neighbours, are deeply concerning. Immigration has brought immense benefits to our country. At Action West London, we witness these positive impacts first hand. Our work in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds into employment, education, and business start-ups showcases how they integrate and become valuable members of our society, contributing to its overall prosperity and cohesion. I want to also mention that the majority of local communities have warmly welcomed immigrants, enhancing the vibrant fabric and resilience of our country. While it is important to have thoughtful discussions about immigration, these conversations should always be rooted in rational discourse and mutual respect, never used as a justification for violence. Let's come together and with one united voice declare that there is no place for racism and Islamophobia in our society. Tony Coyne LLD Chair of Action West London

"Every July 4, we celebrate the day the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence in 1776, declaring the 13 American colonies a new nation. The U.S. Citizens and Immigration Services (USCIS) has a long and proud tradition of commemorating this momentous occasion by hosting special Independence Day-themed naturalization ceremonies. In review of the most successful companies in the U.S. last August, the American Immigration Council examined the impact of immigrant entrepreneurs and their children to the U.S. economy. The report, “New American Fortune 500 in 2023: The Largest American Companies and Their Immigrant Roots,” revealed that nearly 45% of Fortune 500 companies in 2023 were founded by immigrants or their children." Being an immigrant in the USA is tough. You have to face a lot of problems. First, getting a job is hard because of visa rules. And if you lose your job, you might have to leave the country. Many immigrants come here to study and build a future, but it's not easy. Even basic things like having enough money for a living can be a struggle. Despite all this, immigrants keep going. They don't give up because they want a better life for themselves and their families. Every day, they work hard and face challenges, but they never lose hope. They keep fighting for a better future, no matter how difficult it gets. Many immigrants miss their families and friends back home, but they stay strong because they believe in the opportunities that America offers. Moreover, immigrants often face discrimination and prejudice, which adds another layer of difficulty to their lives. Despite these obstacles, they contribute to society in various ways, bringing diverse perspectives and skills that enrich the communities they live in. Additionally, navigating the complex legal system for immigration can be daunting and expensive. Many immigrants struggle to afford legal assistance and may face long waits for their cases to be resolved. Despite all these challenges, immigrants persevere. They work hard, support each other, and never lose sight of their dreams for a better life. Their resilience and determination are an inspiration, reminding us of the strength and courage it takes to start anew in a foreign land. #supportimmigrant
