In a major development, the U.S. Department of State's April Visa Bulletin brings joyous news for Indian nationals seeking employment-based Green Cards under the EB-1 category. The Final Action Dates for Indian EB-1 applicants have surged forward by an astonishing 5 months, moving from October 1, 2020, to March 1, 2021. This significant advancement in the priority date cutoffs means that a substantial number of highly skilled Indian workers, including multinational executives, outstanding professors and researchers, and those with extraordinary abilities, can now proceed with filing for their Green Card and take the final steps towards permanent residency in the United States. The EB-1 category is highly sought after due to its prestigious nature and the numerous benefits it offers, such as bypassing the labor certification process and the ability to self-petition. This positive update is a testament to the ongoing efforts to address the backlog and facilitate the immigration process for top-tier talent from India. Experienced immigration attorneys and experts are advising eligible Indian EB-1 applicants to act promptly and initiate the necessary steps to capitalize on this favorable development. The processing times and procedures may vary, so it's crucial to consult with professionals to understand the specific implications for individual cases. #EB1GreenCard #IndianApplicants #VISABulletin #ImmigrationNews #skilledworkers #permanentresidency #latestupdates #latestnews #immigration #usa #softwaredevelopment #softwareengineering #informationtechnology

https://lnkd.in/eNnSxXsG Stateside visa processing for 20,000 lucky H-1B status holder participants will commence in January. The stateside visa renewal program is one of a number of measures the government is pursuing to lower wait times for consular services. Workers on the H-1B specialty occupation visas, which have a three-year duration and are used most heavily in the tech industry, are currently required to get an appointment at a US embassy or consular office for a visa stamp before returning to the country after traveling abroad. High wait times for visa services in countries like India, the largest source of H-1B workers, have added uncertainty to travel plans for those workers and their employers. #visa #consularprocessing #H1b #h1bvisa

📢 Visa Bulletin Update: September 2024 📢 Notice of Stagnation in Dates If you’ve been tracking the last few Visa Bulletins, you might have noticed that the dates have not been moving forward for several key employment-based categories. Here’s what this means for you: 🔄 No Movement for 3 Months: For the past three Visa Bulletins, the final action dates for many employment-based preference categories have remained static. This includes categories such as EB-2 for India, which continues to linger at 15JUL12, and EB-3 for China, which remains at 01SEP20. What Does This Mean? This stagnation indicates that the demand for visas in these categories is high, and the supply is limited. The lack of forward movement can be frustrating, especially for those who have been waiting for their priority dates to become current. Unfortunately, this also means that applicants will need to continue waiting until movement resumes in future bulletins. Stay Updated: It’s crucial to stay informed and consult with your immigration attorney to understand how these dates impact your specific case and what steps you can take in the meantime. Keep Hope Alive! While the wait can be tough, staying prepared and informed is key. The Visa Bulletin is updated monthly, so continue to monitor it for any changes. #VisaBulletin #ImmigrationUpdate #USCIS #EmploymentBasedVisa #VisaWait #ImmigrationNews

Trainee Solicitor & Justice First Fellow with Wilson’s & Rainbow Migration. GDL/LPC graduate. Immigrant rights campaigner. Disability/mental health advocate.
In every workforce there is a largely hidden divide. On one side are your colleagues who can save up for holidays, cars, little luxuries and more important purchases. On the other, colleagues doing the same work but can’t afford any of those things that make life a little brighter. They have to save every penny and every 2.5years hand thousands of pounds over to the Home Office in application fees and IHS. If they have children who also need applications the burden is even greater. Often those same people also have to send money home to support relatives. People rarely talk about this. Most people with citizenship are blissfully unaware of what their colleagues are going through. The ten year route is tortourous. It becomes so very easy to accidentally become an overstayer. Then, when your next application suuceeeds, the clock resets and you’re back on that painful dragging slog towards 10 years.
The “10-year route” visa is used by hundreds of thousands of people who are not eligible for other immigration schemes because of a lack of income or professional qualifications. Many work in low-paid jobs, such as cleaning or care work. Other common routes to settlement in the UK take five years. https://lnkd.in/e5mPxU-U
