THE INVISIBLE WALL: Delays, obstacles and limitations on the immigration system are not only devastating and disruptive for individuals, but they are also "a threat to employers and the overall economy. A divided nation stands in the way of reform that could turn things around." This enlightening cover article in D CEO highlights the growing need of an immigrant workforce in the United States, particularly in STEM fields. Featuring great quotes, form BAL's own CEO, Jeremy Fudge. Truly an eye-opening read! #Immigration #USCIS #STEM #Reform #CEO #oneBAL

https://lnkd.in/eSk2894x On everything from education to employment, earnings to crime, the Anglosphere seems to have figured out how to make immigration work at least reasonably well. This is reflected in public opinion: continental Europeans are more likely to say immigration has been bad for their country, according to figures from Focaldata. To be clear, the continuing, unedifying debates around immigration to the UK and US demonstrate that, even where successful, it remains contentious. The tangible evidence may indicate benefits; much of the public remains unconvinced. But in a world where countries increasingly compete for skilled migrants to provide demographic and economic boosts, the Anglosphere appears well placed.

The UK has introduced a new Points-Based Immigration System, emphasizing skills and talents over nationality. This system assigns points based on criteria such as job offer, English proficiency, and qualifications. It aims to attract skilled workers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth and competitiveness. The system prioritizes occupations in demand, ensuring employers have access to the talent they need. It also offers flexibility for international students and researchers to contribute to the UK's academic and scientific sectors. By streamlining immigration processes and focusing on merit, the UK seeks to build a dynamic and diverse workforce to drive future prosperity. . . . #UKImmigration #PointsBasedSystem #UKVisa #ImmigrationPolicy #UKWorkVisa #ImmigrationReform #ImmigrationUpdates #SkilledMigration #UKJobs #UKEmployment #VisaRequirements #UKImmigrationSystem #ImmigrationLaw #thepathfindervisa

There’s talk that Kamala Harris "might" make it easier to move to the US if she becomes president. But before we get carried away by these headlines, maybe we should take a step back. The recent buzz around Kamala Harris’s potential presidency and her proposed immigration reforms might be just that—buzz. While the headlines scream about easier pathways to the US, these promises might be marketing tactics to boost image rather than actual policy plans. 1) Might be inclusive immigration reforms: These projections might be aimed at garnering support rather than actual policy changes. 2) Maybe streamlined visa processes: The promise of faster visa approvals could be more about improving public perception than practical implementation. 3) Might be expanded opportunities: These opportunities for international students and skilled workers might sound great but could be challenging to execute. 4) Maybe family reunification: While the idea of quicker family reunification is appealing, the logistics and bureaucracy involved might make it less feasible. When evaluating political promises, it’s crucial for the general public to look beyond the flashy headlines and focus on tangible actions and realistic plans. Instead of getting swayed by marketing gimmicks, consider the politician’s track record and whether they have successfully implemented similar policies in the past. Expert opinions from economists, immigration lawyers, and policy analysts can provide valuable insights into the feasibility of proposed reforms. Before falling for any promises made for TRP, consider if it's actually viable for the government to implement such policies. What do you think? Are these promises practical or just political posturing? #USImmigration #KamalaHarris #ImmigrationPolicies

📣 New voices with a not-so-new call for action 📣 A recent report from the National Academy of Sciences calls for a big shift in U.S. immigration policy! 🇺🇸 The message? It's time to expand immigrant visas and eliminate per-country limits for employment-based green cards. Here's why this matters: 🔑 Boosting Immigrant Visas: The Academy emphasizes the need for more employment-based immigrant visas to address the shortage of talent, especially in critical fields like STEM. 🧑🔬👨💻 This change could position the U.S. as a top destination for global talent. 🌍 📊 No More Per-Country Limits: Currently, per-country caps on green cards disproportionately affect immigrants from countries like India and China, leading to decades-long wait times. The report advocates for removing these outdated caps to ensure a fair and efficient process. 🕒✂️ 🛠 Temporary Visa Reforms: Alongside green card changes, the report suggests improving temporary visa programs like the H-1B. The goal is to ensure that skilled workers can stay and contribute to the U.S. economy without bureaucratic hurdles. 🏛️📜 🚀 Why It Matters: These reforms are about keeping the U.S. competitive in the global market. Retaining skilled immigrants will fuel innovation, create jobs, and drive economic growth. 💡💼 The ball is in Congress’s court now – does anyone think they will act? In the meantime, we will continue to offer solutions that offer pathways NOW for foreign talent across industries to stay and build careers in the US through The Build Fellowship by Open Avenues cap-exempt H-1B and O-1 programs.
