ADZ Energy is pleased to announce it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire an additional 49% of exploration permit PEP169 off Lakes Blue Energy in the Otway Basin, Victoria, bringing our total ownership to 100% in the permit. Equinor and the Troll partners are investing over NOK 12 billion to enhance the Troll West gas infrastructure. Stage 2 of the Troll Phase 3 project will include eight new wells and a new gas flowline to the Troll A platform, with modifications to Troll A. The first wells are expected online by late 2026. "This project secures high gas production from Troll field using existing infrastructure," says Geir Tungesvik, Equinor's EVP. "Experienced suppliers will ensure safe and efficient implementation." The new infrastructure will add 55 billion cubic meters of gas, peaking at 7 billion annually. "This project supports European energy security, with Troll gas meeting 10% of Europe’s demand,” says Kjetil Hove, EVP for Exploration and Production Norway. Recent upgrades have increased Troll's maximum daily production to 129 million cubic meters. QUEENSLAND BOOSTS GAS SUPPLY WITH $21M GRANT Four new gas projects in the Bowen Basin have secured substantial funding from the Queensland Government, aimed at enhancing the state's gas supply to homes and businesses. A total of $21 million has been allocated to Comet Ridge, Denison Gas, QPM Energy, and State Gas Limited to expedite the development of new gas reserves, reinforcing Queensland’s commitment to ensuring a reliable gas supply. Comet Ridge pilot project Comet Ridge will use a $5 million grant to initiate a new pilot project. This scheme will involve drilling a vertical production well and a lateral (horizontal) well. Inspired by Comet Ridge’s successful Mahalo North pilot, the project will integrate advanced steering technology to enhance lateral well design and length, applicable across the Mahalo Gas Hub and the wider Bowen Basin. Meeting energy demands Since 2017, Queensland has earmarked over 20,000 square kilometres of land exclusively for domestic gas supply, underpinning its commitment to meeting local energy needs. In the 2022–23 financial year, Queensland supplied over 27 petajoules (PJ) of gas to southern states, sufficient to power nearly 520,000 homes. Gas remains pivotal in ensuring the reliability of Queensland’s electricity market, particularly as the state progresses towards its 80 per cent renewable energy target by 2035. Commitment to economic growth Highlighting the economic significance of Queensland’s gas sector, Minister for Resources and Critical Minerals, Scott Stewart, emphasised its role in generating royalties, securing jobs, and supporting local manufacturing. He underscored the government’s steadfast commitment to bolstering gas supply through strategic investments, reinforcing Queensland’s leadership in national gas policy. Comet Ridge Managing Director, Tor McCaul, expressed satisfaction with receiving the Frontier Gas Exploration Grant. Elixir Energy Ltd (EXR.AX) has returned a large increase in contingent resources, elevated by 328 per cent to now stand at 1297 billion cubic feet of fully owned gas within its Grandis Gas project. Final results will be accounted for by another certification, and the contingent resources are yet to take stock of prospective coal resources marked for stimulation and production testing over the coming months. Major Energy Companies Compete in India’s OALP-9 Bidding Round to Boost Domestic Production Insights: 1. OALP-9 Bidding Round: • Multiple energy companies, both domestic and international, have submitted bids for the ninth round of India’s Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP-9). • The Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH), India’s upstream regulator, confirmed the participation. 2. India’s Energy Goals: • India aims to increase its domestic energy production, particularly oil and gas, to reduce its dependence on imports amid ongoing industrialization. • The OALP-9 round is part of India’s broader strategy to attract investment into its oil and gas sector. 3. Scope of OALP-9: • The OALP-9 round includes 28 oil and gas blocks covering approximately 136,000 km² across various sedimentary basins. • These blocks have been selected for their potential to yield both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon resources, offering significant opportunities for exploration and production. 4. Key Bidders: • Prominent domestic companies such as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Vedanta, and Reliance Industries are key bidders. • International energy giants like bp are also participating, reflecting strong interest in India’s energy sector. 5.
