If we talk about fashion designer roles in India, companies paying a laughable salary again ,they want NIFT student, oh forget it if you are a fresher, a guy outside selling chai is earning more, worst example a xerox person is earning more, here the degree goes waste as well as the money put into it , in addition all those years . People feel designing as something fancy, but the salary packages are really degrading and disgusting . Even the good brands , big names interview you and they say we can’t afford you ,, it has become this. Not comparing any industry with fashion, but indeed fashion is dynamic ,at least pay like it if you want talent like a A level. Hiring got worse, worst payrolls in fashion witnessed after getting the shortlist from almost all the big names. It is a skill, payfor a skill it is like a coding. Think why coder is earning and designer isn’t.? Interns working for free or for something negligible. Freshers getting like interns in hand Seniors getting like freshers in hand Managerial level - getting like senior level. #hireforskill

🎨💼 Let’s talk about graphic design jobs and unpaid test tasks. 🤔 As a graphic designer, I love my work and always try to deliver my best. But lately, I’ve noticed more companies asking for unpaid test tasks before even having an interview. I’ve seen designers spend hours (sometimes days!) working on these tasks—creating mockups, presentations, or campaigns—without knowing if they’ll even get the job. It feels like our time and skills aren’t valued. I get that companies want to see our abilities, but isn’t that what portfolios and past projects are for? If a test is really needed, maybe it should come at the end of the hiring process—and it should be paid. Let’s value creative work. Respecting time and effort builds trust and attracts great talent.
