🎥 Creators, Read This Before Hiring an Editor! 🎬✨ Here’s a harsh reality: when it comes to PRICE, SPEED, and QUALITY, you can only ever choose TWO. Here’s why: 1️⃣ Fast + Cheap = Low Quality You’ll get your edit quickly and won’t break the bank, but don’t expect anything extraordinary. 2️⃣ Good + Cheap = Slow Great work requires time, especially when the cost is low. 3️⃣ Good + Fast = Premium Price If you want both speed and excellence, it’s going to cost you. 💥 Chasing All Three? You’re undervaluing the editor’s expertise. Every second of their speed, skill, and creativity is backed by years of dedication. Excellence isn’t magic; it’s earned. 🎨✨ 🔥 Respect the Craft: Know what you value most and honor the editor who brings your vision to life! Now tell me, which two matter most to you? Drop your thoughts below! 💬👇 #freelance #videoeditor #videoediting #hr

Finding good people is hard. And when you don’t have a production background, finding a great video editor can be even harder. As a business owner, of course you’d want to find the ever-illusive ‘fast, great & cheap’ editor (which I’d argue never existed). But here’s 3 realistic attributes that you should be looking for in any editor whether they’re a passionate rookie or a seasoned pro: Communicative: I’d trade all of the talent in the world for someone who answers their phone, keeps me in the loop and expresses their thoughts, ideas, needs or concerns. They’re your eyes on the ground so their feedback is crucial. Eager to Learn: Editing software is ever-changing. And with all of the AI tools that have emerged in recent years, you need someone who stays current in order to compete. Being coachable also falls into this category. Organized: This is the sleeper of the 3 and the hardest to measure for sure but without it, things can go terribly wrong. If you’re asking them to submit a sample project (something I’m sure to argue against in another post) ask them to also submit a screenshot of their file structure. You might not learn that they’re organized, but you’ll DEFINITELY learn if they aren’t. Look, speed is great. But it’s unsustainable. Consistency is the key. And making sure that your new editor has these three traits can help you build a consistent and productive workflow for your business. What am I missing? What traits do you think are most important when hiring a video editor? #videoediting #videoeditor #productionjobs #hiring #talent

I've been quiet on here for a while... I MIGHT change that soon, but I'm still deep into what the 'preneurs call "build mode." I think that's a bit silly, since we should be ABBing. (always be building.) For now, I want to be hiring. If you're in the media or content world, take a look at these new, full-time roles: Head of Brand and Content: lead the content team that's responsible for engaging 6m+ followers and 700,000+ newsletter subscribers. If viral social content is your bread and butter, this could be for you. Shooter / Editor: You know how to use a camera and edit what you shoot. Video Scriptwriter: In the cross-section of scriptwriting and viral short form video lives this role. If you love writing and figuring out what makes people stay watching a video, this is the role for you. More coming soon -- if you're a direct response copywriter, or live in the world of marketing and revenue ops for info product companies, stay tuned. Roles linked below. PS -- let me know if you want me to share my "build stories." I felt like I've learned another 100 years of lessons in the past 2 years, and haven't shared any of them. There's some WILD ones...

🚨 Why Hiring Just a Video Editor Is a BIG Mistake for Your Personal Brand If you’re serious about scaling your personal brand and generating consistent leads, hiring a single video editor won’t cut it. 🔎 Here’s the Problem: 1️⃣ You’ll need to hire multiple roles: Researcher, Scriptwriter, Editor, Content Manager—costing you $8K+ monthly. 2️⃣ You’ll waste valuable time training and managing these people. ✅ The Solution: Hire a content agency that handles EVERYTHING—strategy, production, editing, and management—for just $3-5K/month. 📈 Focus on what you do best. Let experts handle the rest. 💬 Comment “scale” if you want to learn how a content agency can skyrocket your brand! #LinkedInMarketing #BusinessGrowth #ContentCreation #Entrepreneurship #SocialMediaMarketing #MarketingStrategy

Over the last 5 years, I've hired 100+ creators Here is How I Hire only the Best Talents to join my agency Are you looking to hire? > Video editors > Thumbnail artists > Scriptwriters But let me tell something: finding "the one" is harder than ever. Why? 🤔 ❌ Technical skills are not enough anymore ❌ "Years of experience" don't guarantee quality ❌ Creativity alone doesn't cut it in 2024 Here's what I've learned (the hard way): 🟢 Creators need to "get" marketing 🟢 They need to understand the attention economy 🟢 They need to be open to feedback (and lots of it) I once hired a video editor with an impressive portfolio. But they didn't understand our "brand voice". At all. Result? Countless revisions. Wasted time. Money down the drain. Lesson learned: Test before you invest! Here's my 3-step creator hiring process for 2023: 1. Give them a small, paid test project 2. Assess their receptiveness to feedback 3. Gauge their understanding of your marketing goals Don't rush the process. The right fit is worth the wait. "Invest in creators who invest in understanding your brand." Your online business success depends on it. Agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments! 👇 P.S. If you're a creator who "gets it", my DMs are always open. Let's create magic together! #creatoreconomy #youtube #videoproduction #doneforyou #hiring

“Why Should I Hire a Video Editor When I Can Do It Myself?” I used to ask myself the same question for years. I knew how to edit, so why would I pay someone else? But here’s the truth—while I was busy editing, my channel wasn’t growing the way it could have. As a content creator, your primary focus should be on creating—shooting, researching, and delivering high-quality content. Editing, while important, can pull you away from what matters most: your creativity and strategy. Here’s the thing: if you can delegate, you should. Hiring a video editor can increase your productivity, freeing you to focus on your core strengths. But I understand not everyone has the budget. If you can’t afford to hire one yet, that’s okay! Prioritize your tasks, roll up your sleeves, and dive into the work yourself😉. Growth happens when you balance your efforts. Whether you’re editing yourself or working with an editor, the goal is the same—make sure the quality and consistency of your content shine. #ContentCreation #ProductivityTips #YouTubeGrowth #DelegateSmart #VideoEditing

Which Problem faced by clients when he wants to hire a video editor *It’s quite strange that there are both clients in the market who need work done and professionals who are willing to do it, yet many clients still struggle to get their work completed.* The reason is simple: - The editor the client wants to hire is either not skilled enough, - Or if skilled, they are out of the client’s budget, - And even if they fit the budget, they don’t have enough time to take on the project. If there’s an editor who can prove this situation wrong, we’d love to have them join us. *Because we are building a Freelancers Agency that operates entirely online.* I’d like to request all editors and small agency owners: **Share with us the type of editing in which you or your team excels.** Please don’t send everything you do—just the specific type of work you’re a master at. Bring samples of what you excel in, and you can collaborate with our team or join us. For editors and agencies that already have a lot of work, that’s great, but those editors who are talented but struggling to find enough work should definitely show their interest. Here’s what you need to do: - Send your WhatsApp number - and specific samples to this Gmail: artistvoice4@gmail.com This is strictly for serious individuals. You can also join this community here: (https://lnkd.in/gM_RNn9c) #linkedin #viral #editors #hr #hiring #animators #fresh #jobs #remote

You’re a Founder & Growing a Personal Brand but Don’t know whom to hire a freelancer or a full time video editor ? Here’s an interesting thought: When it comes to video editing, do you go for a full-time video editor or hire a personal video editor on-demand? Both options have their pros and cons. Hiring a Full-Time Video Editor: 💰 Cost: $3,000+ per month, plus benefits and overhead expenses. 📈 Great for: High-volume daily content production. ⏳ Challenges: Requires training, management, and long-term commitment. Some Key points of Hiring Full-Time: High Fixed Costs: You’re locked into paying a salary regardless of workload. Time Investment: Onboarding and managing a full-time employee can be demanding. Risk of Dependence: If they leave, it disrupts your workflow and delays projects. Overhead Expenses: Additional costs like tools, software, and workspace. On the Other Hand, Hiring a Personal Video Editor: 🎯 Flexibility: Pay per project or as needed—no fixed costs. 🔥 Expertise: Freelancers often specialize in specific niches or styles. ✅ Efficiency: They handle everything independently, reducing your workload. Some Benefits of Personal Editors: Cost-Effective: Perfect for brands that need consistent but not daily content. Scalable: Easy to adjust based on your current needs and workload. Fresh Ideas: Freelancers bring diverse approaches and creativity. Low Management: They’re usually self-sufficient, so no micromanaging is needed It really comes down to your priorities: Do you need constant support or flexible, on-demand expertise? Just some food for thought for anyone building a personal brand. #PersonalBranding #VideoEditing #GrowthStrategy

What’s everyone having for lunch? I’ll have the compliment sandwich, please! Producers/Directors/Anybody hiring freelance video editors…you should try one too. After nearly 20 years of editing I can say 9 times out of 10 that your editor probably just put a ton of thought & effort into making that 1st cut w/ no creative brief and little direction. Instead they heard: ‘I want to see what you’ll do with it first’. They did the best they could to put together something watchable, taking into consideration everything they know about you, your vision and your goals (which can also be very little). Before you jump into Frame.io & unleash the ‘notes beast’ with your well-rested Twitter fingers & freshly-acquired ideas…have a compliment sandwich 🥪, where compliments are the bread & your feedback is the meat. Compliment: This is great! It’s awesome to see everything come together. I like what you did w/ x. Meat: A couple thoughts…(insert notes here) Compliment: Thanks for all of your effort! This is going to be our best video yet. Trust me. After a long day (or night) of pouring through footage, ideating, ‘mind reading’ & executing, your editor will appreciate it. Without it, you might be looking for a new one. Cold turkey. Now, feast! #videoediting #compliments #videoproduction #advice
