Meet Tomasz Laskowski, Deputy Operations Manager Poland, one of our dedicated people working in the organization. Tomasz, known as Tomek by his co-workers, is an exceptional leader, driven by passion, courage, and fellowship. By demonstrating unwavering commitment to his team and showing resilience under pressure, Tomasz exemplifies the core values that define MAX. ❔What does a typical day look like? I'm usually on the road visiting one of our restaurants. A key part of my job is addressing the individual needs of both the employees and the restaurants. We're on a growth journey, and to keep up, we really need to work as a team. When I'm at home, I love making pancakes for my kids for breakfast and taking them to daycare or to activities on weekends. ❔What motivates you the most? Actions that lead to positive changes and seeing how my team's success makes life easier for everyone. ❔What is MAX's biggest advantage? The variety in our vegetarian offering and the Rywala burger. "Rywal" means "Rival" in Polish, and it was launched on November 15, 2023, marking the most successful launch in MAX's history. ❔Where do you see yourself in 5 years? The sky is the limit. Professionally, I hope to position myself where I still have joy and passion that inspires others. Personally, my family dream is to take a 4–6 week tour of the USA.

Another really insightful session with Emma Roderick and Clearing Clouds. As we've grown, we've increasingly recognised the need to define who we are and how we approach the world. Despite all feeling like we were on the same page, we could never quite find the words to describe what the business stood for. A few sessions with Emma, though, and we're really making some headway - even agreeing for once. With a defined mission and core values, we'll have a much clearer understanding of the most important areas of our business and be able to set some achievable targets to improve everything we do.

I am going to break the number 1 Rule in Soup Club and talk about Soup Club….. What is this Soup Club?....I hear you ask…. Well, here at Rutherford Briant, a select few of us have been chosen (some of us opted in) to be part of a group where we take turns to create a Soup on a weekly basis for the group to enjoy. So far, we have enjoyed a Spiced Parsnip soup, created by Amanda Sainter and a Carrot and Coriander by Matthew Reed. Next week is my turn and I am planning on making a Tomato and Red Pepper Soup. So why am I talking about Soup Club?.... Basically, I wanted to look at the Soup Club Advantage when it comes to cultivating a positive work culture. In today's professional world, the significance of work culture cannot be overstated. A positive work culture not only contributes to employee satisfaction but also plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, creativity, and overall productivity. I personally feel that the establishment of the Soup Club (some people in the office may refer to it as a Soup Cult) is a unique and effective way to enhance workplace camaraderie and build a positive atmosphere. Even those of us not wishing to take part are entertained and invested in the weekly deliberations around consistency and vegetable to liquid ratios. Not only does Soup Club foster connection, promote team building and well-being….. it also means on a Monday I no longer have to think about what I am having for lunch. One less thing to think about for me! Win – win. But it also celebrates diversity as participants can share recipes from various cultural backgrounds, creating an inclusive environment that values and appreciates differences.
