Marcy Uhrig told me to document discrepancies from other coworkers so we could get to the bottom of “issues”, then literally told me she had no interest in seeing any of my documentation. Marcy placed me on final notice for the same things she allowed other coworkers to do. I was told it would be a two week make it or break it, that at the end of two weeks I will have succeeded or we will part ways. A month later I only get positive reviews, including from Marcy herself. Marcy explained that because I did well, we would go ahead and leave me on final notice. The only mistake that was actually on me was a case where I missed some test numbers that should have been excluded from the results; however, this is part of why everything gets QC’d before being submitted to counsel. Marcy and the VP (Lara) who QC’d before submitting it to counsel used this as an opportunity to belittle and as the only example of why I did not receive a raise, and why it was appropriate to have me on final notice for months. It doesn’t surprise me that JND thinks someone like Marcy, who pits her own teammates against each other, is an example of a leader. It all started with my search for an image. "It shouldn’t be that hard to find a photo of two women in a coaching session!" I said to myself. Then I started contemplating how things are changing, which is excellent! However, we still have a long way to go regarding equality. Don’t get me wrong — equality works both ways, but there are a few ways in which I’d like to work with female leaders to help them develop confidence, understand biases, and develop leadership skills. I am really excited to be back on campus today with Ola Snow and Stephanie Revish, CPA to talk about Leadership and Gender! As a business leader, I have seen first-hand the impact that gender diversity can have on a company's success. It's not just about representation and equal opportunities, it's also about bringing different perspectives and ideas to the table. Unfortunately, women are still underrepresented in leadership positions across industries. According to a study by McKinsey & Company, women hold only 21% of C-suite roles globally and only 9% in the Fortune 500. But yet female-led companies create higher return on assets for their shareholders! This just goes to show the untapped potential of women in leadership.

Happy International Women's Day! At MCC, we believe that everyone wins with more women in leadership. In fact, research shows that “companies with more women on the boards outperform those without by a significant margin, and organizations with greater gender diversity among senior leaders are more profitable."
