This sounds very interesting, and of course, there are some caveats: -it needs some polishing -companies should be transparent about when they are using AI for this -some people will not take it as a positive that a company is using AI -this will have to be regulated and audited to ensure bias is reduced -this will have a big impact on the job market, particularly for recruiters etc. But every time something is automated to be done by AI, to me it reinforces the concept that THAT part of the job is not a critical task. So, is the critical aspect of recruiting calling the candidate, asking the questions, and recording the answers? Or is it choosing the right questions to ask, interpreting the answers, "selling the job" in a way that is meaningful to the candidate if needed, following up with the candidates, providing feedback, and building a relationship with them for future opportunities? Also, for symmetry's sake, what prevents someone from sending an AI to answer these questions? And, at that point what's the value of the exercise? Looking at the positive side of things too, a tool like this one might augment the capacity to interview, so more candidates can be seriously considered and evaluated.

Here is the hard reality for talent acquisition folks. Recruiters who think AI won't be able to do the CURRENT version of their jobs will have a rude awakening. Just listen to this phone screen done by an AI. I used Bland AI (an AI phone agent), and I gave the system a short prompt: "You are an experienced Senior Recruiter who is hiring other Recruiters. Do a Recruiter Phone Interview with the candidate who is interested in applying for a Technical Recruiter job at Acme Inc. Your goal is to screen the candidate and collect information to verify that they have recruiting experience. " I can hook this up with my ATS, give more guidance to the AI agent, add screening questions to cover, you name it! I also got a live transcript of the call that can be used for training. Is this 100% perfect? It isn't, but this technology is in its infancy and getting better day by day. We should not be naive and think we're irreplaceable if we don't evolve the way we work.
