How can insulin prevent a person from losing weight? Insulin promotes glucose storage as fat, making weight loss challenging as it signals the body to store energy, not burn it. High insulin levels, especially in insulin resistance, can lead to increased fat storage. Adjustments in insulin therapy and diet are essential for managing this effect. Collaboration with healthcare providers is crucial to balance insulin use with weight management objectives. #motivation #job #linkedincoach #branding #careeradvice #india #careertips #linkedinforbusiness #success #work

Did you know that once you are prescribed a medication for a health condition, the likelihood of eventually needing a second increases? It's called the cascading effect of medication -- the primary medication causes side effects, and the side effects get treated with another medication. Before you know it you have a shoe box full of prescription drugs. The good news is, many of these drugs can be avoided (and reversed) with your fork! 🍴🤩 Yes, food and lifestyle are the way to go, and most conventional doctors don't know how to help you with nutrition, exercise, and building new habits. (But, I do!) So ... if you've been diagnosed with a chronic health condition -- high cholesterol, high triglycerides, pre-diabetes, Type II diabetes, a digestive tract disorder, or an autoimmune condition, run, don't walk to a functional medicine practitioner (even if it's not me). We will help you regain your health! 💪 #guthealth #functionalmedicine #functionalmedicinecoach #vegan

Ozempic (semaglutide) is a prescription drug typically given to treat type-2 diabetes. It works to lower blood sugar levels and reduce heart-related risk by: 1. Increasing insulin production following a meal, regulating blood sugar levels 2. Slowing digestion in the stomach to prevent sudden drops in blood sugar levels 3. Lowering the amount of sugar absorbed into the bloodstream However, Ozempic has gained popularity as a weight loss drug, thought to be used amongst celebrities. It mimics GLP-1, a hormone your body naturally produces to increase the feeling of satiety (feeling full after eating), leading to loss of appetite and rapid weight loss. In this video Dr Michael Stein, an immunologist and Founder and CEO of the online healthcare platform, Added Health™, advises 'proceeding with extreme caution' emphasising that it is only beneficial for those at high risk of harm from being grossly overweight combined with risk factors such as type-2 diabetes and hypertension. He recommends that, if you are wanting to lose weight and are not at high risk, you should ‘focus enormously on your lifestyle’ instead of taking Ozempic. In particular the '5 pillars': -Diet -Exercise -Mental wellbeing and Stress levels -Sleep -Strong relationships Sign up to our email list (link in bio) to save the date for the next Smart Ageing Summit, taking place on Saturday, 29th June 2024 at St. Hilda’s College, Oxford University 📧 ____ #Ozempic #WeightLossJourney #WeightLoss #Diabetes #healthcaretips #SmartAging #LifestyleChoices #HealthyLiving #HealthWellness #HealthyAging #AgingWell
