HIGH CHOLESTEROL (unless your LDL particle size is small) CAN BE ALMOST IRRELEVANT TO YOUR HEALTH STATUS. I understand that this not what you have been told for the last 50 years. However, I do not believe any person should begin statin therapy until they have had had their LDL subparticle size evaluated. Statin treatment, in most cases, is unnecessary if your LDL subparticle are mostly small. Total cholesterol in and of itself is a minor part of the health picture. The other parameters listed here, like a fasting insulin level, A1c, and blood glucose response to carbs are much more important regarding overall health for most people. Thanks to @drvipulaggarwal for this graphic.

TODAY May 17 is WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY! To truly address the global scourge of HYPERTENSION, we should further qualify what "enhancing lifestyle and metabolic health" really means. Today it's often more about AVOIDANCE of PROCESSED FOODS RICH IN REFINED CARBOHYDRATES. Part of Metabolic Syndrome reversal in my practice using TCR/KMT is the normalization of "essential hypertension" in a lot of patients even with eventual cessation of antihypertensive drugs. This is most probably the major mechanism: https://lnkd.in/gMxP8d8W

I believe today it's often more about AVOIDANCE of PROCESSED FOODS RICH IN REFINED CARBOHYDRATES, especially sugar (sucrose/fructose/glucose) and flour.
