Promoting sustainable locally-produced alternatives to imported fossil oil such as bioethanol is the most cost-effective way to make progress on our European climate agenda, support jobs including in agriculture, and sustain economic growth. European bioreffineries have a key role to play and should be better valorised and supported for their capacity to provide Europe with food, feed, fuel and much more.

The final session of the Nordic Pellets Conference focused on innovative pellet use in the residential sector, moderated by Anders Haaker, Editor in Chief of Bioenergitidningen. ▶️ Annika Rutegård & Stefan Riener (Rika Sweden) shared insights on premium pellet stoves in Sweden. ▶️ Christian Rakos (World Bioenergy Association) explored pellet cooking as a sustainable solution for the Global South. ▶️ Magnus Ståhl (Karlstads universitet) discussed how efficient pellet cooling improves quality and storage.
