Back in 2018 on this date, myself and a co-worker put on an successful event that I'm still proud of, and simultaneously, it was the same night that I decided to leave that job because it was no longer a fit...though I didn't have another job lined up.--- So, I made a list of what I wanted most in my life, and set out to accomplish those goals:
That year, it worked out pretty much how I set out to make it happen.-- I went on to direct/edit a music video, got a gig on the crew of a national TV show recorded on a fancy Hollywood studio lot, directed/edited a number of videos for the Techstars Air Force Accelerator and other corporate clients, produced events in LA and Boston, and traveled to some of my favorite places every month.---All things that bring me joy.
The whole "it wasn't always easy, but I blah blah blah" was true, and it is still is hard to make it work, especially now as I continue to look for work.
In the past few years, I wrote a screenplay that won a few awards, we screened the music video at a few festivals, another film I directed got into a few film festivals as well, I worked in corporate video production, did marketing for a software company, I got into running races, continued to travel, and I focused on my overall health.
As usual, I still have a number of personal and financial goals that I am working on, but since leaving that particular job in 2018, I've had some of the best, most rewarding, challenging, and life altering years of my life and I'm looking forward to what the future holds.
Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way.
