Participants must be vets, vet nurses or students in veterinary education. University of Lincoln Ethics reference: 2022_9864. Links below to take part ⬇ There is no financial reward for participation. However, for every 500 completed questionnaires, they will donate to Ecologi.com to plant 250 new trees in various global projects 🌱 If you can, please spare a few minutes to participate. Today, on #WorldSpayDay, we're thrilled to announce a transformative grant to COMMUNITY ANIMAL MEDICINE PROJECT, INC. (CAMP)! Since their launch in 2007, Michelson Found Animals has been an integral partner to CAMP Clinics, in which time CAMP has spayed and neutered over 300,000 dogs and cats. The $1 million grant will be used to: - Expand access to affordable veterinary care: Fund a portion of the purchase of a new property in South Los Angeles, transforming it into a low-cost veterinary clinic and high-volume training center. This expansion will significantly increase the number of pets served annually by CAMP Clinics. - Increase spay/neuter surgeries: Support CAMP’s spay/neuter program, offering affordable surgeries to pet owners in historically excluded communities. This will help control pet overpopulation, reduce the number of animals entering shelters, and ultimately save lives. - Enhance veterinary training: Fund training programs for veterinarians in HQHVSN surgeries, a proven method for increasing access to affordable spay/neuter services while maintaining high standards of care. This grant is a giant leap forward for animal welfare in SoCal! Together with CAMP Clinics, we're building a future where every pet receives the care they deserve. 🩺Veterinarians—If your state did not have a veterinary school, how did you prepare for admission to an out-of-state school? Though more vet schools are proposed to be built, there are currently only 32 colleges of veterinary medicine in the United States, making out-of-state acceptance rates extremely competitive. There is no college/school of veterinary medicine in the state of Connecticut to obtain a D.V.M., only undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Animal Science (University of Connecticut). It's a testament to the possibilities of out-of-state acceptance to have doctors like Dr. Courtney Campbell, DVM, DACVS-SA , a Connecticut native, mentoring vet med hopefuls at our Pathway event in New Haven, CT! Building a more inclusive vet med culture means reaching out to empower students who may have disadvantages. This includes vet school hopefuls in states that don't offer residency. 🤝🏽 #BlendingVetMed #VeterinaryTechnician #VeterinaryStudent #VeterinaryClinics #Vetstagram #VetMedLife #VeterinaryAssistant

NEWS: Clemson University Breaks Ground on College of Veterinary Medicine -- Clemson University will break ground in summer of 2024 on a $190 million facility for the College of Veterinary Medicine. Addressing a nationwide shortage of veterinarians, the complex will offer sophisticated learning environments for programs in animal health. The development will support a distributed pedagogical model that prepares students to go directly to local animal hospitals for training and clinical study, instead of spending several years in a teaching hospital. Designed by Flad Architects, LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD., and Foil Wyatt Architects & Planners, the collaborative structure will provide classrooms, teaching labs, research labs, and support space. A range of outdoor paddocks and pens will foster experiential education, training, and discovery. Turner Construction is the general contractor for the project, which represents the state’s first college of veterinary medicine. Occupancy is slated for fall of 2026. https://lnkd.in/e2bg2X-f #Collaboration #AnimalResearch #HigherEducation
