Recently, as part of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs - AWE Kenya Cohort 6, Target Mart Limited proudly exhibited at the 12th Annual SME Conference and Expo at Strathmore University. This event provided an invaluable platform to showcase our work and connect with fellow entrepreneurs. The conference theme was 'Empowering Women, Building Futures: The Path to Success for Women-Owned SMEs and Social Enterprises' and was beneficial to us and our Sales Lead Barbara Mwangi who aptly represented us. The event empowers female entrepreneurs by addressing key challenges such as gender bias and limited access to funding, while promoting empowerment, visibility, and networking. It also highlights the achievements of women in business, fostering mentorship and collaboration. The education sessions offer vital insights on leadership, access to capital, and overcoming gender-specific barriers, ensuring that women entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds are supported and included in the broader business ecosystem. New research co-authored by Elena Novelli, Professor of Strategy at Bayes Business School and Luisa Gagliardi, Bocconi University in Italy suggests that women entrepreneurs who take a scientific approach to decision-making are more likely to find new uses and target markets for their product or service, making them more likely to translate into actual ventures. The paper explored the impact of strategic decision-making training on female entrepreneurs with female-targeted value propositions.
