On this 4th of July, we’re throwing it back to our work on American Apple, the first Imperial cider offering from Michigan-based beverage giant Blake's Hard Cider Co. Back in the Fall 2022, we helped Blake’s bring American Apple to market by developing its brand identity, designing its packaging system, and crafting a narrative highlighting the drink’s distinctly American heritage. Centered around the custom script logo and a classic color palette, the brand leans into this friendly, authentic character – positioning American Apple as the perfect drink for a backyard barbecue, a Sunday tailgate, or a night out with friends. To all, enjoy the holiday & please drink responsibly! #tbt #branding #brandidentity #packagingdesign #zoyescreative 📸 : Jason Ryan

New product: Barclay Rex Magnum Smooth Bent Apple Estate Briar Pipe, American Estates Barclay-Rex is a historic American tobacconist in New York. Founded in 1910 by Italian immigrant Vincent Nastri, the tobacconist has remained in Nastri’s family since its inception, still remaining so today. While today Barclay-Rex is known for its cigars and cigar lounge, there was a time in the 20th century when the store was also famous for its pipes, some of which were carved by the Nastri family, and others which were likely sourced from established makes. I’ll admit that I’m no expert on Barclay-Rex pipes, so I don’t know if they had a specific name for this one. But, if they didn’t market it as a “Big Apple,” I’d say they would have really missed an opportunity! After all, this is a big apple pipe, and where better to have sold it than New York? Jokes aside, it’s an impressive pipe. Apples are not the go-to shape for magnum-sized pipes, being traditionally associated with smaller, delicate, gentleman’s smokers. So, this one is quite unique. Beautiful too. The condition is excellent, too. You’d think with a pipe like this one, there’d be more wear, especially on the stem. But it’s been preserved remarkably, with only a touch of inner rim darkening to show for its past life. Details: Length: 7″ / 177.8mm Bowl Width: 0.95 / 24.13mm Bowl Depth: 1.85″ / 46.99mm Weight: 1.6oz / 100g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/9hYH84 #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd

Reflecting on the simpler times of yesteryear, it's hard not to appreciate the small but significant touchpoints - like soda in glass bottles. This haptic experience somehow made the contents more delightful. It's a reminder of how presentation can influence our enjoyment of a product. Do you find this to be true? Do you prefer soda in glass or aluminum? Let's discuss the nuances of product packaging and consumer satisfaction in the comments. #glassbottle #tmstorm #plasticbottle #can #soda

The power of a square of fabric. This morning I dropped this guy off for a bath to start the year clean and fresh. He’s never really adorned accessories, and it probably wouldn’t make a difference to his self-confidence one way or the other. When they brought this fella downstairs, all I felt was happiness or what’s known as “customer delight”. I don’t know if it’s standard for the business to do something extra, or maybe it was the initiative of the person who gave him the bath. Either way, the gesture’s unexpectedness had great impact. Sure, businesses should tailor their surprises to match their customers’ preferences and expectations; but it shouldn’t even have to be that deep. Whether a branded calendar, a bowl of fresh fruit before the morning meeting, good olives that come with bread at dinner, or a pair of warm socks during a cold winter; find a way to stand out and show you care. It’s smart business and makes folks feel good. #winwin #experientialmarketing

Besides loving this story in the The Wall Street Journal just for what it is (https://lnkd.in/eW9sj8qX), this is just one more indicator of a macro movement toward slow entertainment or drivers suggesting consumers are looking for possibly a little less sensory stimulation. We're seeing trends toward quiet vacations, bars focused on reading or vinyl, articles on the benefits of slow progress at work. This is a clear countertrend to the high sensory impact experiences that were driving foodservice and other industries (fashion, beauty, architecture) for the past few years. I expect this trend will continue well into next year give the intensity of this year's presidential election and ongoing tumult internationally. How can your brand provide consumers the solace and peace they are looking for? #menumattersllc #trends2024 #consumerbehavior #foodandbeverageindustry #restaurants #foodservice #insights #innovation

Imitation is a lazy man's cry of wish SAYING: I wish I was as AWESOME as you." Liking a brand for being a brand comes to down liking a the logo, the name, the legacy, the UNIQUENESS. It's never a 'Two peas in a pod' scenario' and always 'No one does it like they do it.' . Loving Tim Hortons for the coffee comes midway somewhere, but the red logo, the name, and the unique brand weightage it carries gets you to like it. . The saga of creative ideas, finesse and designs is not a chunk to imitate but a pie for peak. . Because let's be honest, liking Starbucks would've came lot late for it's coffee. What does Boston Terrier have to do with Seattle’s Best Coffee? The answer: nothing and everything. In 2014 SBC was faced with a critical issue. Although their coffee bags looked aesthetically pleasing, they were not effective at igniting people's interest. Challenge accepted. I was one of the 3 lead designers involved in the SBC brand refresh and I was beating my head in search of a strong visual solution. I wanted to draw a thread between coffee and its energy-boosting benefits while avoiding industry cliches. The epiphany hit me in the early morning when I noticed a man walking a fidgety Boston Terrier. The man didn’t look fully awake but his tireless copilot enthusiastically kept pulling him forward. Thus, I discovered a perfect 4-legged metaphor for the ultimate morning pick-me-up and a little Boston Terrier became the "front man" for the SBC Breakfast Blend. The Social Proof. When the "doggie bag" debuted on social media, it got thousands of "likes" along with raving comments from the public even before they got to taste the coffee. "I need to find this! My Boston Terrier looks exactly like the one on this packaging!" "Gotta try it just because it has Boston Terrier on it. :) " "Seattle's Best... My favorite waker upper!!!" Thus, the new coffee blend became an instant favorite. It was easy to spot on the shelf, and it satisfied peoples' needs for their natural morning fix. What's the lesson of this story? To stand out, seeking solutions that resonate and inspire your audience is crucial. In turn, you don't just earn their attention, but you also find passage to their hearts. #attention #throwbackthursday #brandrelevance #differentiation #packagingdesign #behindthescenes #yurikacreative

We want the good stuff—right away. Waiting is hard, especially now, with such an influx of options staring us down. Finding the right branded merchandise can be difficult, too. How do you navigate the maze to get to the good stuff—a finished product that represents your personal and professional brand? Call me, but since so few people do this, text me at 617-549-9706. Email is fine, too. Let my team do the hard work; let us navigate the maze of options. We can provide "good, better, best" options, but once you're a customer, we'll already know what you like and will tailor your options accordingly. No 16 seed will knock off a 1 seed today, but I'm watching high-seeded McNeese State, Samford, and Drake carefully. Let the madness begin.
