Functional textiles like sports clothes and underwear are often made of polyester, polyamide or microfibres. They are used during activities where the natural process of perspiration will always be present. However, due to the composition of the garments, they can only be washed at low temperatures, which usually results in unpleasant odours remaining in the textile. Our latest development in sustainable finishing agents will help prevent this problem: HYDROSET ECO-DRY has been created as a moisture management and anti-odour product for functional textiles, footwear and clothing. By making sure sweat and moisture are transported away from the body to the outer surface of the clothing where it can evaporate, HYDROSET ECO-DRY counteracts odour formation and thus increases wearing comfort. To find out more about the product, check out the brochure on our website: bit.ly/3X1ODv8 Don’t hesitate to reach out to our colleagues in the Fibre & Textile Auxiliaries Division at fibre-textile@zschimmer-schwarz.com for more information. #ZschimmerSchwarz #ChemistryTailorMade #TextileAuxiliaries #FinishingAgent #BisphenolFree #Sustainable

This week we will discuss the Unique Quality and applications of Vegetable-Tanned Leather Vegetable-tanned leather stands out for its exceptional quality and character. Made using natural tannins from tree bark and plants, this leather is environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic, unlike chrome-tanned leather, which relies on harsh chemicals. Why Choose Vegetable-Tanned Leather? 1. Durability: It ages beautifully, developing a unique patina over time. This makes products like shoes not just long-lasting but also increasingly attractive as they age. 2. Comfort: Vegetable-tanned leather molds to your feet, offering personalized comfort and a perfect fit over time. 3. Eco-Friendly: The tanning process is biodegradable and sustainable, making it a responsible choice for environmentally conscious consumers. Despite its superior quality, vegetable-tanned leather accounts for only about 10% of the total leather produced worldwide. This rarity adds to its value and appeal, particularly in high-quality footwear. Follow our page for in-depth insights on leather and other footwear materials, empowering you to make informed choices for your footwear preferences.

#FREE Friday Feature now online. A cure for the PFAS problem https://lnkd.in/eTBQqySA Green Theme Technologies Inc. (GTT) has introduced its #PFAS- and water-free EMPEL™ textile finishing platform to the footwear industry. The Empel process applies water-repellent chemicals directly to fibres, followed by thermal curing, which creates a molecular bond for long-lasting protection against moisture. This method eliminates the need for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and water, providing a more sustainable alternative for textile finishing. Previously adopted in jackets, the Empel platform is now gaining significant interest from #footwear brands. #Sustainability #PFASFree #TextileInnovation #FootwearDevelopment

Safety footwear is an investment for any company prioritizing its workforce's well-being. However, the focus often goes solely on the exterior features. Today, we want to highlight the often-overlooked benefit of leather linings in safety boots and their impact on employee comfort and performance. Here's why leather linings deserve your attention: • Unmatched Breathability: Leather is naturally breathable, allowing moisture vapor to escape to keep feet cooler and drier. Reducing discomfort, especially during long shifts or warm environments, minimizes the risk of blisters and fungal infections. • Superior Durability: Compared to synthetic linings, leather is more resistant to wear and tear, offering a longer lifespan of the product. • Enhanced Comfort: Leather naturally conforms to the shape of your foot over time, providing a broken-in feel for improved comfort and reduced friction. • Odor Control: Leather's inherent properties help minimize odor build-up, promoting a fresher work environment for the wearer and coworkers. Investing in high-quality safety boots with leather linings is an investment in your employees' well-being and productivity. Ready to elevate your safety footwear program?
