We’re on vacation But the routine never leaves! It can be tough traveling with kids And the younger they are The more structure is needed. We’re on the beach, so this is A looser vacation with no Big itinerary. So yes, we’re “vacationing,” But things can go south very easily If there are no plans in place. One intentional plan that helps us -keep structure -keep the peace -adjust to a new location Is to simply transplant our morning routine. Our summer routine at home: -wake up -enjoy a little playtime -Eat breakfast -Complete summer bridge workbooks -Read -Make beds -clean up personal space “But it’s vacation!” some might say. They still have fun and it doesn’t take long. Summer vacations take a lot of planning. Sometimes we plan our vacations months ahead. Building up to the vacation by dreaming of how relaxing it is. Thinking of all we can do. We will be happy during this next vacation. We will destress. We will RELAX. Unfortunately though, the vacation only lasts for a week! What about the rest of the year? The impact of fixing the daily minor inconveniences is much larger. No matter how minor the moment is, if it repeats every day, it’s a significant moment. The way your spouse greets you at the door. It might take only a minute. But it happens EVERY DAY. It makes an impact on your quality of life. What you do every morning. What you do before getting to bed. How these moments are designed greatly impacts your overall happiness and convenience. Most of those moments we don’t intentionally design. We just let it happen. We don’t give it much thought. We may need to reconsider that.

2moLast May we flew with Swiss from ZRH to Naples. The luggage from my wife did not arrive. Lost and Found took our information and the other day we got the message: "The luggage was not loaded into the plane".Later the message "Luggage found". Two days later message: "Luggage went to Mexico City". After 6 days it was on its way from Mex to Frankfurt and Naples. We even knew the flight number. However Lost and Found in Naples didn't know which agent they handed out the luggage for Ischia. After another 6 days, 2 day before our return it finally arrive in the hotel. The original label was still on.
