🕛 Midnight is Here!

This week was rather a big week for Midnight as we announced more details about our 4th Generation Blockchain at Cardano Summit, as well as announcing the use of Parity Technologies Substrate in our tech stack...

There were a number of announcements from the summit which you can check out on the Midnight LinkedIn page and on our website . And if you're interested to be an early user of our devnet it's not too late to register on the website for early access (we'll be opening up new cohorts as soon as we can).

🏆 If Not Ethereum, Then Who?...

This week's Friday Poll was a big one. We asked the community to assume that Ethereum was gone, and another Layer 1 had to take over the reigns as Web3's most popular chain. But which would it be?...

Surprisingly, the community voted for Solana - the chain that works less hours than my perma-stoned, hypochondriac intern - as the next best decentralised protocol to bring us into a Web3 future. Phew. Tough one to take...

But what if they really did manage to deliver on their promises... That would make things interesting for sure...

I know I ask you guys to do a lot of reading to stay up-to-date with Web3 trends and knowledge, but this one is definitely worth your time. The good folk at Cointelegraph created a super report on real world Blockchain use cases:

Hey Dad, remember when everyone was living in the Metaverse in 2023?... No... Me neither...

This is one of my favourite meme formats in recent memory, so why not celebrate the 'death' of the Metaverse with a post that pays homage to that late-2022, early-2023 excitement that the Metaverse was going to see all of us hanging out in Spatial and living our lives in VR... ✅ LinkedIn vs. Twitter Blockchainers... Same, Same But Different?

How is LinkedIn different from Twitter? A perfect example using Midnight , Blockchain and the Web3 community… We asked the same question on both platforms: ‘What more do you want to learn about Midnight?’ as we start to ramp up our community engagement…

I don’t know if we were ‘surprised’ by the results, but particularly with Web3 we need to be mindful of the different audiences…

So, in short:

LinkedIn cares about: Use cases (how does it work?)

Twitter cares about: Wen token? Wen airdrop? Pump my bags!

Maybe that's an oversimplification. And YES, I know there polls are not exactly the same, so there is a small degree of bias. However, still worth checking out the community's comments on the differences between LinkedIn and X here .
