The time has come! Let me introduce the top 3 "best of shows" in the 2019 Great Ideas Booth Showcase Semi-finals in my opinion.

This is my friend Vinay who is working on a mobile app called BYUH Student App. It is an amazing app that meets the many needs of BYU-H students and staff, including an interactive map that shows various locations here in BYU-H, a cafeteria menu, direct links to the common websites and applications like Canvas and MAPPER. It generates revenue through subscription it gets from local businesses that are providing coupons to students on the application. The reason why I think they would succeed in this competition is the simplicity of the mobile application and also the impact it will bring to the school. The only improvement I think it has is expanding its users to those who are using Andriod devices.

This is the team from SpeakEasy. They have a brilliant idea of teaching Japanese students who desire native English speakers to tutor them. SpeakEasy has a high chance of advancing to the next level in the competition because it's the only team that is focusing on educational business in this competition. They are generating great revenue and have a great opportunity to scale to another level. I would suggest that they could develop an application in the future for students to use for the tutor sessions video calls.

Last, but not least, is the Hop In Travels! Their business idea focuses on helping tourists gain an authentic and sustainable way to experience Hawaii. Not only do they provide unique itineraries and great photos, but they also adjust the group size of the tours and create sustainable tours. Their video presentations were well-made and they have detailed itineraries provided for their tours. I believe that if they can scale this business to other countries, it will become a one-of-a-kind business. They could also try to cooperate with more local companies to build different tours for their tourist customers.

It's been a blast checking these booths out! Stay tuned with all these businesses, and let me know if you would like to learn more about these businesses. Mahalo! (Word count: 383)
