2022 Global Diversity & Inclusion Award and Global Volunteer Award winners
We’re announcing our 2022 Global Diversity & Inclusion Award and Global Volunteer Award winners, each of whom are being honored for their leadership, their ability to make a meaningful impact, and for the exceptional contributions they’re making to advance the ideals of diversity, inclusion, equality and volunteerism. With this recognition, we are celebrating those who are living our company’s values and thanking them for demonstrating the best of Bank of America.
There were a record-breaking number of nominations for each award this year, and we are proud to recognize more award recipients than ever before. Thank you to each of our outstanding Global Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Awards and Global Volunteer Awards winners.
Global D&I Awards
Sponsored by Bank of America’s Global Diversity & Inclusion Council (GDIC), which is chaired by CEO Brian Moynihan, our Global D&I Awards recognize teammates who are creating a diverse and inclusive environment where all employees have the opportunity to succeed. This year, 2,085 teammates from around the globe were nominated for a Global D&I Award and 167 were selected for the honor.
One example of a team award went to the iRevive team, with representation from three of our lines of business. The iRevive team focused their diversity and inclusion efforts on hiring women resuming their careers after a break for family care and have now successfully on boarded 40 employees and created a playbook to scale the program across Global Business Services (GBS).
“Employees thinking and acting with an inclusion mindset help ensure everyone is represented, everyone’s experience matters and every voice is heard. They are driving progress inside and outside our company,” said Cynthia Bowman, Chief Diversity & Inclusion and Talent Acquisition Officer. “By finding ways to help women who are re-entering the workplace and providing support as they resume their career, the iRevive team are making our company stronger and more diverse. And that’s just one example from our entire group of outstanding award recipients.”

Global Volunteer Awards
Our Global Volunteer Awards recognize employees who are serving their communities exceptionally well through outstanding volunteerism. On average, employees volunteer 2 million hours to our communities, delivering on our commitment to drive responsible growth. This year, 1,890 teammates from all lines of business and around the globe were nominated for a Global Volunteer Award and 1,545 applications were submitted, with 79 employee volunteers selected.
One of our Global Volunteer Awards was given to the team leading The Blacon High School Mentoring Program in Chester, UK. This program helps students in underserved communities realize their potential and consider the possibility of pursuing a university degree. Students discuss career aspirations with mentors from Bank of America, who share their experience and offer help with resumes, mock interviews, and tutoring. Events like a Careers Fair and Virtual Work Experience have resulted in many students being offered their first work experience.
“It’s a reflection of our people, culture and company that so many teammates put their hands and hearts into helping our neighbors and communities thrive on a local and global level,” said Andrew Plepler, head of Environmental, Social and Governance. “The Blacon High School Mentoring program is a perfect example of how our employees constantly find ways to use their expertise and skills to offer young people valuable experience and a bright future. There are individuals and teams coming together across our company and everywhere we live and work to make a difference, and honoring those who are making a profound impact with a Global Volunteer Award recognizes that spirit.”
Congratulations to all our extraordinary award recipients, and thank you for demonstrating that Bank of America is committed to helping our teammates, clients and the communities where we live and work thrive.
