4 Quantitative Survey Platform Alternatives

4 Quantitative Survey Platform Alternatives

Are you new to launching surveys or just looking for an alternative to the expense of Qualtrics and Forsta?  If you answered ‘yes’ to either of the questions or are just curious about what the new generation of survey tools looks like, keep reading.

First, let me explain that I’ve been conducting quantitative market research since we had to write syntax to create data tables in SPSS. Some of you reading this are probably like, “what’s syntax?” Don’t worry about it…just trust me, it sucked.

If you lived through that early research era, the growth of Qualtrics and Forsta (formerly Decipher) and the feature-rich analysis tools that followed probably seemed like a dream come true.  These amazing platforms really have been an amazing upgrade to our capabilities as researchers, but as time has gone on these tools have continued to raise their costs making it difficult for small practitioners like my company (Harvest Insights) to justify the spend.

As a small firm that conducts both qualitative and quantitative research, paying for a subscription to either major survey platform does not make financial sense, especially because we never use all of the completes that we are provided and advanced features also cost extra.

So, I set out to find some alternatives, and I wanted to share what I found.

In a word…WOW…the landscape for survey platforms has certainly evolved.  There are many feature-rich alternatives out there now.  Since I spent so much time researching these tools for my own purposes, I thought that I’d share my findings with you:

These are certainly not the only survey platforms out there, but these are the four that I’ve spent time reviewing.  I’ll be investing in one of them soon.  I’m not quite ready to say which one, but if you DM me, I’ll be happy to discuss or debate.
