5 Fresh Starts at Shipt HQ this March
March was full of exciting energy at Shipt HQ. Teams jet setted to Las Vegas for Shoptalk 2023 and across the nation for our Beyond the Bag shopper tour with stops in Denver, Chicago, and more. We introduced major new tech advances, new creative, and new education strategies. And, of course, we wouldn’t be Shipt without the human component—celebrating Women’s History Month and sitting down for a GTKY with recently appointed Chief Marketing Officer Alia K. Read on for the full 4-1-1.
Talking Tech at Shoptalk
Gathering in Las Vegas for Shoptalk ’s annual retail conference is nothing new for the Shipt team, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting—especially when we have tech advances to unveil.
For a session titled “Achieving Personalization at Scale,” Chief Technology Officer Mike C. discussed at least five ways we’re enhancing customer experiences on our platform, including personalized product recommendations using machine learning.
Retail media and CPG experts Kylissa W. and Jag W. also spoke at the Criteo booth on “Delivering Growth: Accelerating Emerging Brand Success with Shipt.” As we work towards further personalization with display ad products, their expertise will definitely deliver wins.
Blazing Trails for Women’s History Month
Women and allies at Shipt celebrated Women’s History Month with the theme “Blazing My Trail.” Our empoWered employee resource group hosted activities like volunteer events benefiting local organizations supporting women, a panel featuring Shipt leadership, and weekly yoga flows and affirmations. The images above, supporting the affirmations, are original artwork created by two talented team members, Claire G. and Nancy H. Talk about blazing a trail!

A Breath of Fresh Air
If you’re still experiencing wintry weather in your region, let our latest creative campaign spark feelings of spring. The Shipt Creative team dreamed up dozens of unique shots, ads, landing pages, audio, and video to represent how Shipt can help customers soak up the season (while their shopper takes care of the shopping). Be sure to look for our talented team’s work in the wild. And speaking of marketing…
Getting to Know Alia K., Shipt CMO
We welcomed Alia to the team late last year, so we were excited to sit down with her for a 90-day reflection. Marketer, leader, mother—Alia does it all and we’re all abuzz from her dynamic leadership so far. Read more about recently-appointed Chief Marketing Officer Alia K. on our Newsroom.
The Humans Beyond the Bag
Our Beyond the Bag tour continues as our shopper-supporting teams visit shoppers across the states. In addition to getting to know new faces, we launched our in-person education strategy. Developed to meet new shoppers where they’re at, this strategy provides app tutorials and tips for success. Experienced shoppers are welcome to join and discuss, as well. This program adds a new, personal touch to our existing optional educational resources.
Team members also visited Target sortation centers to get some firsthand experience with last mile delivery. The team reports that every stop on the tour fills them with more appreciation for the people shopping and delivering with Shipt.
The latest from Shipt HQ, delivered.

1yHas Shipt started outsourcing their customer service? I reported a wrong item on April 6 and messaged about a separate issue on April 7, and in chat an overseas rep is telling me that complaints aren't accepted after 7 days but he will issue me a credit anyway (it hasn't been 7 days; I submitted the issue the day of the shop and I don't know why it wasn't already handled, or why the Contact form message wasn't answered). The last few shops have been far below par, and my current customer service chat is taking half an hour with the agent not understanding what I'm asking. If taking on so many new stores has caused customer service to suffer, then there's no need for me to continue to use Shipt. That would be disappointing, since I've been ordering with Shipt with no major issues since 2016.
