5G Black Technology in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Even the Covid-19 Pandemic is accelerating, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (the 32nd Summer Olympic Games) condensing the eyes of the whole world, will officially start on July 23 after one year delay. The participating regions of the Olympic Games is 204, and athletes from all over the world are doing their best in a fearless game on the field.

5G High-tech applications add new vitality to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

Affected by the pandemic, in order to ensure the safety of the athletes and spectators of the Tokyo Olympics, most of the games of this Olympics will be held in empty venues without spectators. For spectators who cannot go to watch the games, new technology like 5G has been applied to multiple events of the Olympic Games Tokyo, allowing "off-site spectators" to enjoy the exciting moments of the Olympic games as if they were on the scene. Let's take a look at these 5G high-tech applications!

5G+ 4K HD event live stream

In sailing events, drones equipped with 4K camera functions are activated, and the game videos captured by drones are transmitted to live broadcast on a 50-meter large screen via a 5G network, allowing spectators near the pier to watch the game closer.

5G+ AR smart glasses

In the swimming competition, the audience pays attention to the athletes' movements and the statistics on the monitor. Due to their focus usually needs to switch back and forth between the swimming pool and the monitor, the viewing experience is poor. In this swimming competition, the audience is equipped with smart devices that support 5G networks. With AR smart glasses, the audience can not only see the athletes but also the results of the game and other data at the same time, giving people an intuitive and immersive viewing experience.

5G Drone Security System

The Olympic-related areas are equipped with drones and robots to identify suspicious activities among the crowd. In particular, the high-definition 4K security drone will act as a surveillance camera to ensure that every action occurs in the activity center is captured, and the drone security can be achieved through the deployment of a large-bandwidth 5G network.

Hongdian assisted the Olympics with 5G+ AI+ IoT technology

Hongdian has 5G solutions for related scenarios application mentioned above like 5G+8K UHD live broadcast, self-driving, drone security system, and others. As a pioneer in the domestic IoT and M2M markets, Hongdian grasps the development opportunities of new infrastructure. Taking 5G+AI+IOT as the technical route, Hongdian has taken the lead in the industry to release a variety of different forms of commercial 5G IoT communication terminals, which are widely used in multiple scenarios like VR, drones, self-driving, unmanned inspections, and smart factories. Hongdian has an indissoluble bond with large-scale sports events before 5G is commercialized.

Back to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Hongdian participated in the torch ignition project. The lighting of the main torch is the most-watched, shocking, and sacred moment of the opening ceremonies of the previous Olympic Games. Hongdian wireless terminal equipment is deployed in the Olympic torch gas monitoring system, and the status of the torch gas system is monitored by a wireless network, which effectively guarantees the smooth ignition of the Olympic torch.

The 2010 Shanghai World Expo is in the hot summer. Hongdian provides a set of automatic sensing and automatic control wireless automatic fog forest systems based on mobile data transmission platform to monitor the temperature and humidity of the venue in real-time to form an automatic spray and real-time adjustment to achieve on-site cooling and humidification. As a result, the cost of using the fog forest is completely controllable, and the power consumption and water consumption of the system are greatly reduced, and at the same time, it provides a comfortable visit experience for the majority of tourists and visitors.
