8 Secret Android Functions 90% of Users Don’t Know About

Android has almost reached the top of smartphone market segment and day by day its user base is increasing strongly. These smartphones have become the part of our daily life and we use them most of the times, but we still miss out on exploring our phone’s complete features. This feature is useful to users who prefer to hear incoming information rather than seeing it. It can be configured by navigating to Settings > Accessibility and turning on the Text-to-Speech Output option. This is a great feature it allows users to multitask and save time.

3 Remote Operations - To configure, go to Settings > Security > Device Administration and check the boxes next to Android Device Manager, "Remotely locate this device" and "Allow remote lock and erase". But if the smartphone is lost, one can locate it and block it without losing any data on the smartphone, through a website.

4 Turn on the Guest Mode – If you are giving the mobile phone to someone for a short period of time and do not wish to share your confidential data - then you can use the Guest Mode. Swipe down from the top with two fingers, and touch the user icon on the upper right. The Add guest icon will appear, and the user will be able to choose which actions the guest, handling the smartphone will be allowed to take.

5 Screen Magnifier Feature – This feature is a real life saver for those with poor eye sights. This feature provides the ability to zoom in on any of the display just by tapping it. To activate the feature, choose Settings > Accessibility > Magnifying gestures.

6 Hotspot modes – By activating the Hotspot mode, users can basically turn their smartphones into a 3G modem, or a router that feeds on the Internet to other internet-enabled devices. To configure, go to Settings > Tethering and portable hotspot, and switch on Portable WLAN hotspot.

7 Control your smartphone with head movements – Users may find themselves in a situation where one has to use the phone but their hands are occupied or it is just too cold outside to take off your warm gloves. However, there is a solution to this! If the free app EVA Facial App is already installed, a user is able to control his Android device with the movements of his head.

8 A Secret Game – Starting from Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Google puts a small secret present for users into all the devices. However, users are unable to find it. Navigate to Settings > choose the option “About phone” or “About tablet”.
