ADVANCING STRONG NONPROFIT BOARD WORK

Good nonprofit work starts with exceptional volunteers that have the willingness and desire to give back to community, and provide critical oversight to support organizations in mission work.  A strong board must move beyond the typical noon lunchtime meeting, and the checkbox of minutes and financials.  Although boards must oversee fiduciary tasks with great care, they must additionally resolve to advance and commit to execute and change cultures, creating new opportunities, and adding significant value to their organization.   For nonprofits to survive in our changing world, boards must advance stronger roles to focus and shift as communities change, recognizing diversity and making bold decisions as custodians of their mission.
