Synthesia Reaches Unicorn Status with $180M Series D

London-based AI video platform Synthesia has secured $180 million in Series D funding at a $2.1 billion valuation. The round was led by NEA, with participation from WiL, Atlassian Ventures, PSP Growth, GV, and MMC Ventures. The company serves 60,000 enterprise customers who use its AI avatar technology for sales, marketing, and training videos. 

Synthesia plans to expand into Asia Pacific and enhance its avatar capabilities with more realistic motion and interactive features.

Hippocratic AI Raises $141M Series B

Healthcare AI startup Hippocratic AI has secured a $141 million Series B at a $1.64 billion valuation, led by Kleiner Perkins. The company, focused on non-diagnostic patient-facing AI agents, has now raised over $211 million in less than two years. 

The funding will support expansion into new markets and international growth, building on their existing partnerships with 23 health systems and insurers.

Qventus Secures $105M Series D

Healthcare automation platform Qventus has raised a $105 million Series D ($85M equity, $20M optional debt) at a valuation exceeding $400 million. Led by KKR with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and strategic investors Northwestern Medicine, HonorHealth, and Allina Health, the company will use the funding to develop more "AI teammates" beyond their current in-patient applications. 

Qventus has shown impressive growth with a 4x increase in customer base and 120% net retention.

Bioptimus Secures $41M for Biology-Focused AI Model

French AI startup Bioptimus has raised $41 million to develop what they're calling the "GPT for biology" - a foundational AI model specifically trained for biological applications. The company, founded last year, has now raised a total of $76 million. Led by Cathay Innovation, this round will support the development of their multi-modal foundation model spanning the entire biological spectrum. 

The company's technology aims to simulate biology to predict disease outcomes and develop more effective treatments.

Raspberry AI Secures $24M for Fashion Design Innovation

Fashion tech startup Raspberry AI has raised a $24 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Greycroft, Correlation Ventures, and MVP Ventures. The company's text-to-image platform helps fashion designers visualize and iterate designs instantly, serving 70 customers including Under Armour and MCM Worldwide. 

The funding will support expansion into home, furniture, and cosmetics product design.
