AMCP’s Adam Colborn Recaps AMCP Legislative Days 2024, Education Sessions, Best Poster Competition, and More

Dear MCPs,

While it often seems like things don’t get done in Congress, AMCP is reminded by our members that advocacy on important issues can make a difference. Whether it’s public safety, transportation, or health care, raising our voices in support of smart, effective policies can truly spur change.

This month, AMCP hosted our annual Legislative Days event. MCPs from across the country met in Washington, D.C., for two days of education and advocacy. After learning more about our stances on key issues, AMCP member advocates met with their Members of Congress to urge them to support the Access to Prescription Digital Therapeutics Act and the Medicaid VBPs for Patients Act. We’re very proud to say that several AMCP members secured commitments of support for these bills during their meetings. Those who have been involved in grassroots advocacy before will know how rare that can be.

We also took time to honor bipartisan Members of Congress who have led the charge to advance policies that improve the practice of managed care pharmacy. This year’s honorees of the 2024 AMCP Achievement in Pharmacy Policy Award are Congressmen Kevin Hern of Oklahoma and Mike Thompson of California.

As we approach an election and the end of 118th Congress, it is more important than ever to come together in support of improving access to much needed treatments. Join us today as we look to change the landscape of managed care for everyone and help patients get the medication they need at a cost they can afford.

Sincerely,

Adam Colborn

Director, Government Affairs
