- Price negotiations for Medicare -covered drugs have become a reality following President Biden's signing of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Implementation of price negotiations is set to begin with ten medications under Medicare Part D, selected for the first cycle of negotiations for the year 2026. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services engaged in good faith discussions with drug manufacturers, ultimately determining what are termed Maximum Fair Prices for these selected medications. - Belgium has implemented permanent reimbursement for next-generation sequencing in oncology and hemato-oncology. Previously, these molecular biology tests were covered temporarily under a pilot program managed by the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance ( RIZIV-INAMI ) from July 2019 to June 2024. This new agreement introduces a more permanent reimbursement framework through newly established pseudo-nomenclature codes that include specific fees and conditions.
