August Market Update

🟠 In the Gulf region, August has seen temperatures soaring, prompting many to head off on holidays abroad to avoid the heat. Despite a slower pace of hiring, our Dubai office is still busy with EA and senior finance positions currently on our books. We are observing a growing demand in the region for Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking candidates who are able to meet employers' multilingual requirements.

🟠 In the UK, our London team has had a strong start to the month, despite hiring slowing over the summer holidays. Many companies have begun planning ahead and are commencing hiring processes for employees starting in September. We are recommending that employers take the time to stay up-to-date on incoming employment legislation changes to future-proof HR practices.

🟠 In the US, the heat isn't slowing hiring with many employers presenting new positions to us. Our New York office is seeing growth and a high level of jobs at a time when the US would historically slow down due to vacations. We are seeing an increasing number of hiring managers conducting skills-based assessments , meaning lengthier but more thorough recruitment processes.

🟠 In Switzerland, we are in the busiest part of the holiday season and we hope you enjoyed celebrating Swiss National Day! Numerous national holidays have meant fewer companies are hiring this month as staff take a well-deserved break. It's encouraging to see reports that Swiss companies are continuing to demonstrate financial robustness when compared to their European counterparts, which bodes well for recruitment in the region.
