Bamboo Employee Spotlight: Jonathan Gandia

Meet Jonathon Gandia , our senior implementation project lead focused on bringing Bamboo Health’s controlled substance and care coordination solutions to life. Since joining the team early in 2021, Jonathon's role has evolved significantly, expanding his influence and expertise from supporting our prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) solutions to our real-time e-notifications platform. We sat down with Jonathon to delve into his role, team dynamics and what a typical day looks like in his world. 

During a standard day, Jonathon is immersed in many customer-facing and internal meetings, each serving a unique purpose. From kickoff discussions and training sessions to offering insights and expertise on integrations, he works with various teams to ensure that our implementation setups are finely tuned, providing our customers with a seamless experience. With Jonathon’s valuable insights into how our solutions can address facility issues and enhance care workflows, he is integral in keeping both internal and external stakeholders aligned. 

Working cross-functionally with multiple teams, Jonathon is crucial in crafting an optimal experience for Bamboo’s customers. Given the complexity of managing healthcare data insights for multi-state audiences, you'll frequently find him working closely with the engineering team. He also prioritizes collaborations with the growth team to ensure the success of integration setups. Additionally, Jonathon engages with the product and customer success teams, sharing customer experiences and providing vital feedback for continuous product enhancement and success. 

Jonathon and his team's weekly challenges are diverse and driven by their unwavering focus on our customers. As a customer-facing team, they possess in-depth knowledge of all solutions across PDMP, behavioral health and care coordination. Regardless of his team’s focus, meeting the high expectations of professionals in the field is a top priority. 

For Jonathon, his work is personally fulfilling, but the most rewarding aspect of his job is knowing the impactful role Bamboo Health plays in our healthcare system. He shares, “We consistently receive feedback indicating how our solutions have made providers' lives much easier. It improves their workflow and enables them to provide better patient care because they are more informed." Jonathan recalls receiving a note from a pharmacist who cited one of our solutions as “one of the top two improvements in the past 20 years,” underscoring the significance of Bamboo’s work. 

When asked what he loves most about working at Bamboo, Jonathon instantly highlighted his love for his team and colleagues, asserting that he would put his team up against any other in the company. This sentiment is echoed by several of Jonathon’s teammates who nominated him for our annual internal ‘BamBOOM’ awards, which recognize Bamboo Health employees who embody our values of grit, ownership, boldness, humility and care.  

Teammates praised Jonathon, expressing, “Jonathon takes ownership of any mistake that may have happened and finds resolution immediately. He demonstrates a high level of care in his daily interactions, going above and beyond to ensure the well-being and success of those around him. Every interaction with Jonathon is sure to end with 'what can I help you with,' even when he is at capacity. He is the epitome of an incredible employee, co-worker and friend.” 

Others emphasized that customers who work with Jonathon always feel like they are his number one priority. We are proud to have Jonathon on our team at Bamboo Health and appreciate his unwavering commitment to our continued success. 

Jonathon calls Mt. Washington, Kentucky, home, sharing it with his wife, McKinsi, and their one-year-old golden doodle, Samson. On a perfect weekend, you’ll find him immersed in the company of family and friends, cheering on his nieces and nephews at sporting games and dance recitals. Whenever there's a chance, he swings a golf club with the best of them.
