Battery Operated Vehicles……………India and Its Need & Future !!!!!!!

Today India is one of the Major Economy after China in the World.

It has a growth rate of 7.56 (Estimated).

As Economy Grows, every country has to pay Prices for it. Stress, Job Pressure, insecurity, Pollution, etc.

 Yes…..Pollution. China is paying. Beijing today is one of the most polluted Cities in the world. And India has many cities which has fatal growing rate of Pollution. That’s not only because of Factories. It’s also because of Low cost and no or less maintained Public Vehicles.

China has seen that maybe 20 years back, and started Electric vehicles which are Battery operated. And today they have many Types and Forms of Battery Operated Vehicles. 

And also maybe because of weather or better Economy, Chinese hand pull rickshaws are long disappeared.

But till today, we can see these kind of Hand Pull rickshaws in the streets of Kolkata a City of Bengal in Eastern India , though Local Government banned, but not able to implement 100%.

Another form of Manually Pulled Rickshaw is still on Indian Roads as a short distance Travel locally is still very popular which is called Cycle Rickshaw. 

Now if you see all these Types of Rickshaws, which a manually Pulled, how much effort the Man has to make. Don’t you think, it’s really inhuman as you sit behind, and somebody is carrying it as a slave? And that too in today’s 21st Century, where we want everything with Jet speed, be it travelling or Internet speed. We don’t have time. But we have time to sit on a Man Pulled Rickshaw, and wait for the man to help me reach my destination, with a mere fee, and that too we bargain a lot sometime. The man while pulling the rickshaw, has no time to look at the sky to check the weather, if it’s raining, or if the Summer Temperature is 50 degree (yes it is there in India) or it is cold as 1 Degree. We don’t care, what goes with the Rickshaw Puller. We don’t even bother to ask his name, or how is he feeling.

Also, it’s risky while it carries even school children, in busy and Reckless Indian roads.

But the best thing is these vehicles are Pollution Free. But for me it’s Inhuman.

There is another Popular mode of local transport is CNG (still some places has Diesel) operated Auto Rickshaw, which Bajaj Auto brought in the Market and later TVS also brought. But till date Bajaj is most popular one. It is even spreading in Many Countries in Africa Like, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt etc.

Apart from Public bus or Trains, these are the lifeline of Indian Public transport.

For the Auto Rickshaws, which are running with CNG are pollution free, but its also not implemented 100%. But process is there.

All of you might be thinking, why I am giving so much briefing about Indian Public Transport.

Now let’s come to the Non Polluted Hand pulled Rickshaws (which are left few) and Cycle Rickshaws.

Look at the Guys, how much hard work they have to do no matter what is the weather condition is, for few bucks to feed their children and Family.

Don’t you think its Inhuman?

Many Human Right Activists are raised Questions………..and I support.

It’s easy to say its Inhuman, but what will these Rickshaw pullers will do to feed their Family and self.

Two or Three years back, few Business people started Importing  Battery Operated Three wheel Rickshaws or E-Rickshaws from China on a Trial Basis. These are much cheaper than the Bajaj CNG Auto Rickshaws. But much more expensive than Hand Pulled or Cycle Rickshaws.

Some could effort to buy and most of them couldn’t.

Also, there was a big tussle, and still it is on between the Auto Rickshaw Drivers and E-rickshaw Drivers.

As there is always a cat fight going one as who is taking away whose cake.

Also, there is lot of confusion of the Road Permit & Licenses , in Local Government level.

But over the years, it has gain popularity and only popularity.

The E-rickshaw Drivers can earn better money with lesser effort and off course lesser Investment than the Auto Rickshaws.

But still lots of Manual Rickshaw pullers are waiting for their Dream Come True.

Central Government has taken these New Rickshaws seriously. Lot of Make in India Projects of Manufacturing E-Rickshaws has come up and more are coming.

Even Our Prime Minster has recognized the  Future & Need of Battery Operated Vehicles in India.

Central Government has requested all the state Government to expedite Files, to make road permits Licenses for E-Rickshaw as soon as possible.

Many states will get more and more Battery Operated Rickshaw. Which will reduce the pressure on some particular one kind of Transport; more works will be created for many unemployed young people and Government is thinking of giving more Easy Loans to those Manual Rickshaw Pullers, who can get rid of their old Rickshaw and shift to E-Rickshaw and live a better and healthy life with their family, and also earn better.
