Becoming Remotely Humorous

Becoming Remotely Humorous

To our fellow LinkedIn networkers, ninjas, and 6th-degree connections (hi, Mr. Bacon!):

Work has changed.

With the shift to remote work, we rarely see our team members in person (or from the pajama bottoms down). This isolation, coupled with unprecedented levels of stress and uncertainty, means it's harder than ever to foster connection, joy, and well-being at work.

But while stress and uncertainty is all around us, we believe there’s hope in humor.

And the research agrees: studies show humor builds bonds, boosts innovation, and bolsters resilience through hard times. Like now. And now. But especially now.

That’s why we’ve designed a first-of-its-kind online learning experience focused on creating more bonded, creative, and resilient remote teams through humor. It’s inspired by the courses we teach at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, tailored to this moment in history, and now available to the world.

It's also a lot of fun. Created in collaboration with comedic minds from The Onion, Funny Or Die, and Comedy Central, and designed with experience designers from IDEO and Airbnb Experiences, the result is a new type of content: like if Saturday Night Live and world-class online education had a baby. We are giving you that baby.

Humor is a team sport, so enroll today and invite others to join (preferably with over-the-top emojis, a tasteful gif, and lots of exclamation marks!)! We can all benefit from a bit of joy amidst the gravity of the moment. We wholeheartedly believe this content has the ability to transform the way you work (and live), and we’re so excited for you to join us.

Yours, taking humor seriously,

Connor Diemand-Yauman and Naomi Bagdonas

let's be honest about what we're all thinking: does enrolling in this course a tacit admission that I don't think I'm funny? i've decided yes, i'm actually not very funny, and am excited for Connor to humor me.

Great initiative! Now I can get my friends and family to learn what I learned at the GSB :)
