Before the Storm

Commercial playgrounds play an important role in bringing communities together but are often overlooked when preparing for a hurricane. 1.     Well before a storm approaches, trim and remove any dead or overhanging tree branches that can become destructive debris during a storm.

2.     Replace any missing nuts and bolts and tighten any loose ones.

3.     Have spare parts on hand and any lubricant recommended by your playground equipment manufacturer.

4.     Before the storm arrives, remove accessories like swings and store them in a safe place.

5.     When winds are expected to be 80 mph or greater, remove shade fabrics and store them in a safe place.
