Better 2017

This photo was more than 16 hours ago during the countdown for 2017 at 30k feet flying home from Beijing, then I joined in for my 2nd countdown in Livermore CA. What a 2016！Like those rainbow colored lights, there were so much tech application achievements, from Alpha Go demo to Didi completing 20million rides daily on its big data ride-sharing platform; yet there were so much to regret and worry about, from senseless shooting to terror attacks, to global warming and pollution; of course there were the new precedent of cyber attacks affecting US election (APT never dies?), and the uncertainty coming with president-elect Trump. Security is going to be on everyone's mind, be it corporate data protection, identity or financial fraud, or simply job security. Although rational thinking is not always easily discernible during election, I have confidence that we collectively can make 2017 better. Especially, we can start with better security awareness for individuals, better best-practice implementation for organizations, and real support for ecosystem defense in security tools & products, we are now off to a better start!
