BIO Alabama Names Dr. Jeremy D. Blanks as CEO

Birmingham, AL - BIO Alabama names Dr. Jeremy D. Blanks as CEO.  Dr. Blanks is a native of Albertville, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama for his B.S. in Chemistry/Mathematics as well as his Ph.D. in Chemistry.  After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1995, Dr. Blanks joined DuPont where he had a career of over 20 years serving in progressive leadership roles in R&D, Manufacturing Technology, Operations and Supply Chain.  Dr. Blanks then joined a series of private equity firm owned companies in executive roles as well as spent time with Huntsman Chemical.  Most recently he was the Chief Operations Officer for Sigura, owned by Platinum Equity.  Dr. Blanks and his wife, Dr. Jian Sun-Blanks reside in Arab, Alabama.

Dr. Jeremy D. Blanks commented “I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to move back to Alabama in late 2020 and now be presented with this role to advocate for life sciences in the state.  As an Alabama native and scientist by training, it is personally important to me that we grow this area to bring in more and better bioscience jobs as well as improve economic investment in our beautiful state to ensure a prosperous future.”
