Building a 'Culture of Community' in Today's Modern Workforce

In today’s competitive talent landscape, keeping workers engaged, involved, and informed has never been more vital. And with one in three of today’s enterprise workers contingent, this engagement strategy is not limited just to one’s full-time workforce.

This blend of background and skills makes a workforce more dynamic and diverse – all positives if an organization is looking to move fast and achieve critical business priorities. But today, we see too many organizations focus simply on one portion of independent workforce management, such as compliant engagement structures or recruiting and onboarding enhancements.

Just as many enterprises invest heavily in their ‘corporate culture,’ it is equally important to think of building strong foundations and community cultures amongst independents as a critical lynchpin of one’s workforce optimization strategy.

While easier said than done, the actual activities are far from rocket science and include setting mutual expectations, prioritizing clear communication, creating reasonable processes and procedures, and building a positive work environment.

Of course, our Community Management Program can help you build competencies and measurement frameworks, as well as operate core talent management functions. But true community goes beyond even a well-thought-out program of initiatives and into a long-term strategy to position one’s organization not just as an employer of choice, but a client of choice as well.
