BUILDSOFT GLOBAL - How to integrate results from the 'Subbies Comparison Module' into an Excel Tender summary sheet

Most of us know that we can produce 'Preliminaries in the Buildsoft Global software, however unlike a excel spreadsheet it's a bit more tedious to manipulate changes to the data quickly. Until such times that the software has a dedicated Preliminaries Section the following is a workaround that elevates the need to manually input data from Buildsoft into an excel 'Tender Summary Sheet'.

Rather than fully describe the process I will illustrate it with snapshots from both the 'Subbies Comparison'' software and Excel.

Lets take a look at a typical screenshot of a finished subbies comparison sheet:-

From this sheet we need to create and import sheet in excel. The following Excel sheets will show you How this is done.

Notice the 'Import Sheet' tab at the bottom of the above sheet. The example below shows what it looks like.

Now select the subbies comparison sheet in Buildsoft and copying it to the external clipboard and then paste that sheet at cell B3 in the above sheet. Once this is done you will have the numbers from the subbies comparison in this sheet.

As the Import Sheet and the SUBBIES COMARISION SHEET in Excel are linked, when you go to the SUBBIES COMPARISON TAB in EXCEL you will see the following:-

This sheet allows you to make any tender late adjustments and the revised value will be carried automatically to the Tender Summary sheet (commonly known as the 'Green Sheet' in some companies)

You will also notice on the above sheet we have a tab called PRELIMINARIES - example below:-

These also get collect automatically on the front summary sheet.

So, you will never have to type numbers into this excel sheet from your Subbies Comparison software again, its just a copy and paste. Also note that the Prelims are done in excel -(currently much quicker than trying to do them in Buildsoft)
