Under general direction of the Senior Oil and Gas Engineer (Supervisor) and/or the Supervising Oil and Gas Engineer, the Associate Oil and Gas Engineer will independently perform Underground Injection Control, production and oil and gas pipeline and facilities, gas storage, geothermal, well stimulation, and related engineering work within CalGEM’s Coastal District office. The incumbent performs assignments that require a high degree of knowledge and skill in hydrocarbon and geothermal technology, team leadership, communication, data management, presentation and engineering work, including operations, production and good oil field practice.

In accordance with Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-33-20 and, as a result of the COVID-19 rapid out-break, Department of Conservation will continue its hiring practices as they are deemed necessary to “maintain continuity of operations of the federal critical infrastructure…,” Candidates who participate in the interview process will be considered essential in promoting this effort and are not in violation of Executive Order N-33-20. Virtual interviews via web portals or phone will be offered as deemed appropriate and feasible by the hiring manager – standard in-person interviews will still be offered if conditions permit.
