Career pathways in Geospatial Technology with York and Medgar Evers College - CUNY
Since 2017, the BCC Geospatial Center of the CUNY CREST Institute [BGCCCI] has been working with partnering institutions [York College and Medgar Evers College] in creating career pathways in geospatial technology and applications. Through its all year round workshops and intensive research internships we have trained underrepresented participants in New York City by pairing them with expert mentors and engaging them in cutting-edge projects. The success of the collaborative activities are a testimony to the commitment shown by Co-PIs from all partnering institutions and diligence of the participants and mentors. Thanks to the United States National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological Education [NSF-ATE] and the National Aeronautics Space Administration's MISTC programs we have been relentless in training participants in geospatial technology and its application to STEAM disciplines and in our pursuit of creating career pathways with an industry consortium.
