CareMessage to Acquire Ownership of CoachMe/Verano Health Technology for Blood Glucose and Blood Pressure Tracking

San Francisco, CA - Tuesday, February 22, 2022 - An agreement was reached for CoachMe Health to transition to CareMessage the ownership of technology for blood glucose and blood pressure tracking. This technology, developed by CoachMe Health as part of its virtual coaching platform, will be an important asset to CareMessage as the organization pursues its mission of leveraging technology to help safety-net organizations fulfill the essential needs of underserved populations.

Founded in 2019, CoachMe Health has enabled patients with limited technology literacy to track blood glucose and blood pressure data via a powerful and simple SMS tool. CoachMe Health has worked with community clinics, health plans, and health systems to help underserved patients manage chronic illnesses and improve health outcomes.

“We’re excited to contribute our technology to CareMessage, an organization that has built an incredible network of clinics and is reaching patients across the country. Their team brings a forward-thinking approach to supporting patient self-monitoring and a decade of experience in the community health space,” said Karin Underwood, the founder of CoachMe Health.

CareMessage is the largest patient engagement platform for underserved populations in the United States. The robust CareMessage platform enables safety-net organizations to use mobile messaging to fill gaps in care, provide education, remind patients of upcoming appointments, automate follow-up for open referrals, and provide one-to-one communication. With technology playing an increasingly powerful role in healthcare delivery, CareMessage is eager to explore how CoachMe Health’s technology will accelerate ongoing work to support the most vulnerable patient populations.

“We look forward to leveraging the potential of this technology to directly improve health outcomes for underserved populations,” said Vineet Singal, CareMessage’s CEO and co-founder. “CoachMe Health has paved a vital path towards patients receiving better care based on self-measurement and remote monitoring of blood glucose and blood pressure, and we plan to continue this forward trajectory.”

As a 501(c)3 non-profit, CareMessage leverages technology to help 400 safety-net organizations nationwide fulfill the essential needs of 10+ million underserved patients.
