Have you ever felt that technology can do your job❓

It is increasingly common to hear that there are new solutions to automate human tasks.

I invite you to take this on positively, looking for alternatives to use this technology to your advantage. And in some cases to pivot your professional career.

Let's take the example of Text-to-Image solutions, which use artificial intelligence to generate visual alternatives based on our indications.

But instead of understanding how the technologies work, let's focus the analysis on knowing what goes through our minds when we use them.

People are the source and purpose of technology. It should be our trigger to develop any solution.

Let's summarize our technology usage cycle as follows 👇

Adoption of a new technology

The first thing to highlight is that the design, tools, and UX / UI almost eliminate barriers to use. They facilitate adoption.

In my case, I have tried 2 Text-to-Image solutions:

• Dall-E v2, released by OpenAI
• Canva

Both have visual interfaces and instructions that significantly reduce the learning curve.

I just need to describe the image I want, and the software creates some alternatives for me (4 in OpenAI and 2 in Canva).

Usage

After a few minutes, I could use both technologies.

And spent some time using their features.

Text to Image is a technology that surprised me with its ability to generate variations from descriptions and shows the enormous potential this technology has to bring value to those who use it.

That was the description I gave DALL-E 2 to create images, and this was one of the results it delivered:

That was the description I entered in Canva to create images, and this was one of the results it delivered:

As you can see that I love Van Gogh's paintings.

And, as a non-artist, I like the results created by technology.

So, in terms of adoption, I can see both companies offering a seamless experience to users.

Practice makes perfect 🚀

After joining any technology, it becomes a natural challenge...

Mastering our skills to get the most out of the solution we are using.

In this case, I'm aware that I won't become an artist.

But I can be a great writer: tell Dall E or Canva what I want, and get better and better at it.

Will Text to Image replace all artists and designers❓

I don't think so.

I think it will help those of us who don't have artistic skills, to create images that we imagine but can't produce.

I also see a lot of potential in creating texts from the combination of ideas we have in our minds.

From my experience, I can share with you that it is fantastic to face the challenge of finding the combination of ideas that allows the software to create the image of our mind.
