Celebrating Global Connections: The Success of the BLS Reunion Remix Committee

The BLS Reunion Remix event was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of our dedicated committee members. To assist with outreach, Rondale Davis successfully assembled a diverse 15-member volunteer committee, consisting of alumni from different graduating classes and various parts of the world. Our reach spanned major cities such as Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, and two international countries- Hong Kong and Mexico, demonstrating the broad presence and strong connections among our alumni. 

The classes of 2010 and 2011, who missed their 10-year reunions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, were especially grateful for this event, appreciating the opportunity to reconnect and celebrate. Their enthusiasm and participation demonstrate the importance of such gatherings in maintaining strong alumni networks.

The contributions of the committee underscore the powerful psychological connection people have with their alma mater—second only to family and friends. Supported by Mael and Ashforth in the Journal of Organizational Behavior in 1992, this research demonstrates how strong social identities are formed during university years and continue to influence alumni behavior and loyalty long after graduation. These findings help explain why many alumni remain engaged with their universities, driven by a powerful sense of identity and belonging.

As we celebrate the success of the BLS Reunion Remix, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible committee members below for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the cause. The standout contributor was Perry C. , our Event Planning and Design Coordinator, who went above and beyond by building our photo booth from scratch, sourcing raffle prizes, and creating the perfect ambiance for the event. Special recognition goes to Lily W. (Hong Kong), and Khadeejah Clemons (Mexico), whose efforts expanded our reach internationally, ensuring the reunion was a global affair.
