Championing Women's Careers
Hello and a warm welcome to the first edition of the 2to3days newsletter - for people in business who are responsible for hiring decisions and who want to accelerate the pace of change when it comes to women’s equality.
According to the World Economic Forum, it will take 132 years for us to reach gender equality at our current pace of change. Women’s equality in the workplace is a global issue and a national crisis. That’s why the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No 5 sadly is a necessity.
It’s tragic.
At this rate, I will be long dead before we achieve gender equality, and so will you. So will our children and even our grandchildren. But it doesn’t have to be this way. The technology is there, the education is there. What is still lacking is individual awareness and a desire to take responsibility for our actions at home and at work that can expedite the change.
Bottom line up front – the binary world of work and home life is no longer compatible with the way we live in the 21st century. The system is breaking, people are breaking, especially women. However you choose to skin the debate, a 4 day week, hybrid working, the answer lies in work life integration. This comes through flexible working.
Despite the size and sophistication of the £39 billion recruitment industry, companies are still struggling to find diverse and experienced women; while women are struggling to find companies who will genuinely support them to integrate work into their lives. They are like ships in the mist. 2to3days’s role is to help blow that mist away.
The purpose of this newsletter is to share solutions, champion the good guys, learn, inspire and share ideas, because a workplace that works for women, works for everyone.

What can you expect from my newsletter?
It will come out fortnightly on a Tuesday morning and is aimed at all people who are responsible for the hiring decisions in their organisations - business owners, the senior leadership team, Heads of HR, Talent and Diversity and Inclusion. As well as all men and women, who frankly are as frustrated as I am, and want to do their bit to accelerate the pace of change.
We will discuss head-on the issues that make it difficult for women in the workplace (men too). We will showcase the people and the companies who are doing great things when it comes to gender equality, as well as sharing top tips and resources so that together we can accelerate the pace of change.
Thanks for reading. And please hit the subscribe button if you’d like to accelerate the pace of change with me!

Who am I?
I am Juliet Turnbull, the founder of 2to3days, the company I set up because I believe that women in the 21st century have a fundamental right to reach their full potential at work. I believe the UK plc needs a female focused talent marketplace that supports women, inspires women and connects women to organisations that want to hire more women to work flexibly. I myself have worked flexibly for the past 20 years. I don’t believe you can have it all but I do believe you can ‘have both’ - a great work and home life which comes through integration.
I am a straight talking, crack on and make it happen sort of girl. I believe in speaking truth to power and being your authentic self. I am on the third chapter of my career - I started life as a Chartered Surveyor before moving into business coaching and now I am an entrepreneur building a purpose-led business.

1yReally looking forward to reading it. Out of interest what platform are you using to host your newsletter outside of LinkedIn? My subscriber list has really grown and the monthly fee from MailChimp is now extortionate- looking to move.

1yLoving this initiative Juliet. I'm subscribed and will continue to share with our network and clients.
So refreshing to read this and looking forward to future newsletters. It's some comfort in a sea of uncertainty to see that there are people banging on the drum for promoting all the great skills women can bring to the workplace.
