CHEQ APPOINTS CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER AND CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

The World’s First Universal Social Order & Payment Platform Welcomes Powerhouse Executives Jake Stone and Jim Castillo to the Team

SEATTLE, WA – November 8th, 2021 — CHEQ, an innovative universal on-premise social order and payment platform, announced two key executive additions to the company’s leadership team. Jake Stone has been named the company’s Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Jim Castillo has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO). CHEQ launched in early 2021 to evolve the restaurant, hospitality, and entertainment industry as well as provide technology solutions against massive disruptions brought about by the pandemic. As the world’s first social order & payment app, CHEQ facilitates frictionless and contactless on-premise dining. More significantly, CHEQ delivers trust by integrating with communities, allowing users to connect, share, endorse, and socialize through the app. In an ever-connected world, CHEQ is bringing local communities to a global audience.

Stone, a Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient, has held leadership positions at Disney & ESPN Media Networks, Cox Media Group and Infront Sports & Media. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at Independent Sports & Entertainment (ISE) where he oversaw all companywide sales, marketing, brand and communication initiatives. Stone is a global sports, entertainment, and hospitality executive, and has negotiated over $1 Billion in contract value through integrated sponsorships, naming rights & entitlements, talent endorsements, media sales, digital distribution and content licensing deals. In his new role at CHEQ, Stone leads revenue strategy, with a focus on spearheading business development, enterprise sales, and channel partnerships across the sports, entertainment, hospitality, and restaurant verticals.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to join an amazing team that’s revolutionizing the payments industry,” said Stone. “CHEQ is the first universal social payments platform that optimizes on-premise transactions across many different industries. From inside sports and entertainment venues, to restaurants, hotels and casinos, our technology has the power to completely transform and elevate the customer and operator experience. I look forward to driving growth and adoption of our innovative platform with strategic partners”

Castillo, an experienced technology leader, has held senior executive positions in engineering and software architecture, notably leading OpenTable as Software Architect and other related positions for over a decade. He has also held senior roles at CSG Systems (formerly Telution) and RepairPal, where he assisted the team in building the largest marketplace for local auto repair rooted in community reviews and trust. At CHEQ, Castillo is in charge of the product vision, development, reliability, and security, leveraging his extensive restaurant experience to construct first-class solutions for venues and diners. Castillo has spent his career working with talented engineers to design, build and deliver scalable solutions that focus on quality and performance.

“I am thrilled to join the CHEQ team. The food and hospitality industry is ripe for change and plagued by predatory food service apps. My career has been spent developing tech solutions by putting the communities we serve first,” stated Castillo, Chief Technology Officer, CHEQ Inc. “Margins are so thin, yet these industries add life to communities and neighborhoods. I see CHEQ helping to transform a sector that needs support, especially as we recover from the pandemic. But even more importantly, this is the future – one where technology allows everyone to benefit together and makes our lives easier – for the industry, for the diners, and for ourselves. Especially when we all have our own POS in our pockets.”

“Jake and Jim are the best in the business when it comes to building amazing products and driving adoption.” said Thomas Lapham, CEO of CHEQ. “We look forward to their leadership and guidance in supporting our continued growth in transforming the hospitality industry and uplifting local communities.”

CHEQ is already established in key markets and has been adopted by more than 1,000+ restaurants, bars, food trucks, and stadiums across the country in regions such as Florida, Hawaii, and Washington, with plans for rapid expansion in 2022.
