Content Marketing Trends of 2017
There's no denying that 2016 brought some groundbreaking trends, from Facebook Live to Instagram Story and a whole load of Snapchat filters. In 2017, you can count on businesses and consumers alike to begin utilizing these to grow their brand and their following.
Here are a few more things to know in order stay ahead of the game in 2017:
Native Advertising:
Why is Native Advertising so important? Filters, that’s why. We aren’t talking about a spam filter or a water filter, but the ability for people to filter out advertisements on their feeds, websites and basically any other platform. Millennials do not like to be talked at, they have the ability to pick and chose what they see, and they heavily utilize it. Gone are the days of simply showing a product on the side bar of Facebook, ads need to evolve from advertisements to content.
Influencer Marketing:
Bloggers, Insta-Famous, and YouTubers. These are the future spokespeople for products and they’re already making waves, endorsements are moving from the ultra-famous to the social media stars. Why pay a celebrity staggering amounts of money to make a commercial for TV, when you can reach tens-of-thousands if not hundreds-of-thousands of people directly in your target demographic. It can be giving shampoo to a YouTuber who makes videos on hair care or giving a free copy to a gamer who streams video games. It’s all the advertising placements at a fraction of the cost.
Video and Visual:
What’s drawing your audience in? With the amount of ad-blockers and media platforms there are these days, consumers almost have to want to watch your ad placements. You’ve got 3 seconds to catch and grab the attention in todays multi-tasking oriented world or your target is probably going to switch to a different app. That means in todays multi-platform social media world you need to set your brand or product apart with something new or catching, puppies and kittens are always a safe bet!
Writing:
Although this isn’t new, it’s important to note that it still matters, maybe now more than ever. If there’s a spelling or grammatical error you can bet it’s one of the first thing our interconnected world will notice, and they’ll be sure to let you know.
Storytelling, it’s still present it’s just changed how it’s looked a little bit. Now stories have a few new forms. It could be a twitter rant made up of 140 characters on Twitter, or a heartfelt Facebook blurb with a picture, even your Instagram filled with hashtags! Consumers still want a story they can relate to in order to feel personally invested or connected with your brand.
While this is only a fraction of the trends to expect from 2017 don’t worry about keeping up with all of them. Whether it’s finding your perfect influencer or telling your brands story, Evoke can help you ride the trends to build a successful brand and reach the audience you need to reach.
