Continuing Our Meet the Team Monday Series!

Welcome back to our Meet the Team Monday series, where we continue to showcase the incredible individuals who bring Le Bas International to life! Be sure to check out Patrick Hampton's, Tracey Deakin's & Donough Hughes' articles if you haven't done so, to learn more about the incredible individuals behind Le Bas International Air Charter !

Today, we shine the light on Geraldine O'Loughlin , who is based in Shannon, Ireland. Geraldine is our EU Operations Manager and is one of our longest serving employees! Geraldine's career began in 1996 when she finished University and worked for the Irish Health Services (now HSE), however she wanted to do something more exciting, which is when she saw an advertisement for Operations Controller with Le Bas International in Shannon. 27 years later, Geraldine is still going from strength to strength and has not looked back!

Geraldine is a real family person... any excuse for a family gathering, you can count on her to be there :). She has been married to her husband David for 31 years, and have 3 amazing boys who very much keep her on her toes!

We asked Ger a few questions - see what he had to say below:

If you were an airplane, what type/model would you be and why?

  • VIP Boeing 767 BBJ, What an amazing aircraft. I would travel the world with my family and friends take in lots of amazing places as we go and of course do lots of shopping along the way! (Lots of room for luggage on this aircraft).

Example of Boeing 767 BBJ

What's the most unforgettable charter flight you've been a part of, and what made it so special?

  • I would have to agree with my colleagues Tracey & Patrick, has to be the evacuations we assisted with after Hurricane Katrina. To be able to assist with these even though we were thousands of miles away in our Irish office was a humbling experience.

What's your favorite in-flight snack or guilty pleasure when flying?

  • So simple - Pringles ! Doesn't matter what flavour, love them all 🙂

What is your favourite thing about working at LeBas International?

  • First of all, colleagues! Couldn't do it without the team! Then variety. No day is the same, working between VIP corporate trips, Group charters, AOG part movements, Cargo flights and Lease requests - who wouldn't love it!

What's something that maybe none of your colleagues know about?

  • Love everything Irish! From dancing to playing and listening to Irish music, as a child I won competitions for Irish Step dancing and set dancing, played the piano, accordion, fiddle and tin whistle. Now, as an adult I watch my boys who speak fluent Irish and play banjo, mandolin, tenor guitar, concertina, tin whistle, fiddle ... lots of  traditional Irish music and talent in our house 🙂.

Stay tuned for more spotlights on our exceptional team members as we continue to celebrate the people who make Le Bas International the phenomenal place it is!
