Copilot in Clarity
Microsoft Clarity with New Copilot Functionality

Copilot in Clarity

Microsoft's first use of it's AI powered Copilot rolled out today in Clarity. Clarity records user's interactions with a website as well as providing heatmaps for webpages. Once you select a recording to review there is a new icon to the left of the star and once clicked it activates Copilot results for that recording. Here are some of the summary categories it produces:

  • Source Attribution: Organic, Paid, Social Media, etc.
  • Time spent on different sections of the pages the user visited
  • Which buttons were clicked as well as actions taken i.e. signing up for a newsletter, etc.
  • Ends with the time spent on Exit Page for that session

I think Clarity is a logical first use product, it's a niche service with many fewer users than something like Word or Excel and will be easier to quickly fix any bugs that may arise. If you've used Bing's Chatbot the UI will be familiar as it types out its report as it generates the information. Hopefully the next step is reporting, it would be incredibly useful if you could request a review of all recordings from certain date ranges like the past 7 days, past 28 days, last month, etc.
