COVID-19 | Governor, we want to help!
The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo
Governor of New York State
NYS State Capitol Building, Albany, NY 12224
Dear Governor,
RE: We are ready to serve the community amidst COVID-19
As the CEO and Co-Founder of Jitjatjo, a human-powered company headquartered in New York City, I believe we have a civic obligation to serve the community in its time of need.
I watched your press conference from Javits Center where you said, “we need ventilators, we need masks, we need staff.” We know Javits well and have supplied them with over 35,000 hours of labor in the last six months. We would love to help!
Our workforce of 10,000+ (W2) hourly, multi-skilled hospitality professionals are available to assist the community in this time of great need and we have a technology platform that can rapidly onboard and deploy thousands more. Our recently launched COVID-19 Awareness and Hygiene Training program has our team ready for the work you need, immediately. Now is the time to #hirehospitality.
Jitjatjo is a high-growth, tech start-up headquartered in NYC that is redefining labor models in the hospitality and retail industries, both of which have been decimated by COVID-19. Founded in 2016, Jitjatjo has developed a contingent labor platform and staffing marketplace that leverages A.I. and Empathic Intelligence to instantly and accurately match businesses with vetted, qualified workers and can get workers on-site within an hour.
Jitjatjo’s mission is Human Betterment. Now more than ever, everyone needs a champion to reach their potential and Jitjatjo helps talent leverage their passion for humanity to deliver value to the community. Hospitality industry workers are versatile by nature and well poised to lean into where the needs are now.
In response to the recent spread of COVID-19 in NY, and following the lead of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC), Jitjatjo has implemented a free COVID-19 Awareness and Hygiene Training for workers. The training program is available via the Flex mobile app and educates workers on how to prevent acquiring and/or transmitting COVID-19. Upon completion of the training course, workers are required to undergo an assessment and only those who achieve 100% are awarded the COVID-19 Trained Accreditation.
We were originally focused on preventative measures that could keep kitchens open to ensure the community gets access to cooked meals throughout the crisis. We are now expanding our focus to help the broader community by leveraging our resources.
In addition to the Javits Center, we’ve also supplied staff to the following organizations:
- CUNY
- Columbia University
- Northwell Health
- NY Presbyterian Hospital
- Barclays Center
- Marriott Group
We can rapidly deploy our workforce to areas of need, based on the skills and accreditations required, while also factoring in their proximity to each worksite to limit their commute and exposure to COVID-19.
Please have one of your team contact us ASAP so we can help the community of New York #hirehospitality.
Sincerely,
Tim Chatfield
