CSRI - A short activity update

CSRI - A short activity update

CSRI is an independent academic institution aimed at promoting business's socially and environmentally responsible conduct. We mainly work in Israel but try to contribute to the global discussion around the topics of sustainability reporting, assurance, regulation etc. My own field of research is materiality as I see it as a key topic in non financial reporting.

CSRI's key initiative in the passing year is advocating for non financial legislation in Israel. We led a multi stakeholders consultation process in articulating the law and I am happy to update that the law will be presented to the Israeli parliament in the coming days. We have translated the law and all it's non financial reporting guidelines to English. You can access the English proposal here.

It is worth mentioning that our proposed law is by no means 'light touch regulation' (as mentioned in the conference in relations to the EU non-financial reporting directive). It is a robust law, setting high and concrete legal transparency expectations from business based on a very clear taxonomy.
At CSRI we also publish position papers covering different angles of CSR. Our latest position paper makes a very interesting comparison between the GRI G4 reporting guidelines to one of the world's leading Social Audit methodologies, the ETI. You can access the paper here.

As an independent institution, we believe that our added value in leading assurance process is evident. That is why we have established internally the Center for Sustainability Reports Assurance (CSRA). We have conducted several assurance process till now and will be delighted to expand our operations in the field. Prof. Carol Adams said in the conference that in assurance we need to see the big picture. This is exactly what we bring with us...

Any idea for collaboration is warmly welcomed.
All the best,
Liad
